On completion of his diploma in Dentistry in 1996, Ahmed worked as a general dental practitioner for about 6 years in both hospital and practice environment.
Thereafter, Ahmed completed 2 years of training in paediatric dentistry at Leeds Dental institute and was awarded a Master in Dental Sciences in Paediatric Dentistry degree (2004). This was followed by completion of a PhD degree in dentistry (2009).
Ahmed worked as a clinical tutor in Paediatric Dentistry at Leeds Dental Institute between 2008 and 2010 and completed a Certificate in Education, which awarded him a membership status of the Academy of Higher Education, he then joined University of Bristol as academic and completed his training in Orthodontics. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons and is on the Specialist Orthodontic Register.
Ahmed enjoys all aspects of orthodontics and provides a high quality of care for adults and children.

Colin graduated with honours from Newcastle University in 1999. He attained his MFDS qualification at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2002. During his training pathway Colin has gained wide experience with positions as a Senior House Officer at Newcastle Dental Hospital followed by a post in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Newcastle General Hospital.
Colin completed his specialist orthodontic training as a Registrar at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, attaining his Membership of the Faculty of Orthodontists at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2007. Colin is on the Orthodontic Specialist List and is a member of the British Orthodontic Society.
Colin treats NHS patients at our orthodontic centre in Darlington and also provides access for patients at our outreach clinic in Bishop Auckland. Colin also offers private orthodontic treatment, including aesthetic braces and Invisalign clear aligners.

Jonathan studied dentistry at the University of Manchester qualifying in 1986. After five years teaching and practising Maxillofacial Surgery, he became a Registrar at the Birmingham Dental Hospital, working in all specialities of dentistry with close attachment to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital. He gained his Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons, Glasgow in 1991. Jonathan then studied Orthodontics at the Eastman Postgraduate Dental Institute in London, gaining his Master’s degree in 1994, and Membership in Orthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1995.
Jonathan has been in NHS and private orthodontic practice for the last 20 years, with special interests in aesthetic appliances, adult orthodontic treatment and the clinical efficiency of treatment mechanics. He is a member of the British Orthodontic Society and is on the General Dental Council Specialist Register for Orthodontics.

Dawn has worked at our Orthodontic Centre since 2004. Firstly, Dawn was a dental nurse before going on to qualify as a Dental Therapist in 2008. She was awarded the qualification (DipOT-RCS) Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy after attending Leeds Dental Hospital for 1 year. Here she attended lectures and seminars whilst learning on the job from her assigned Orthodontist. As an Orthodontic Therapist, Dawn works alongside her Orthodontist under their prescription, working in both NHS and Private dentistry.
Dawn’s favourite part of the job is transforming smiles, and in her spare time she enjoys walking her boxer dogs.

Lindsey’s favourite part of the job is giving patients the confidence to smile. Outside of work, Lindsey enjoys spending quality time with her family and children.
