Ahmed Tahboub Implantologist

After completing his dental degree at The University of Manchester, Ahmed worked at Manchester dental hospital and Manchester royal Infirmary. This allowed him to further his training in complex restorative dentistry and oral-maxillofacial surgery. During this time he was involved in surgical and dental reconstruction for patients who suffered from trauma or oral cancer. This is where he discovered his passion for dental implants and restorative dentistry.Ahmed then completed a postgraduate certificate in restorative dentistry and a certificate in dental implants. He also completed the exam for membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MJDF). His attention to detail and perfectionism earns the confidence of our patients to deliver the best possible results. His ability to put you at ease and make your treatment comfortable makes him popular amongst nervous patients. He offers complex implant surgery from single implants to full mouth rehabilitation using dental implants. Richard Bate Implantologist

Originally from the West Midlands, Richard qualified at Manchester University in 2008 before completing his Vocational Training in the North West. Following this, he worked in hospital Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery for several years, holding a Staff Grade position in the specialty and achieving his Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery through the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.Richard pursued further training in dental implants through Straumann's Foundation in Implant Dentistry programme.His particular interest is the provision of implants at the front of the mouth, though he enjoys all aspects of implant work from single implants to full mouth reconstructions. Richard's scope of practice is not limited to implants, he also undertakes restorative cases and orthodontics. Richard is a proud father, supporter of Birmingham City FC & breeder of pedigree Maine Coon cats.He is also keen botanist, whose particular specialty is the identification and taxonomy of European orchids for which he is actively involved in the conservation of. He found notoriety in the national press in the summer of 2024 for rediscovering a Ghost Orchid in the South of England, which represented only the second sighting in the UK for 37 years.

Dr Azra Nagdawala graduated from the University of Leeds in 2020 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Since joining mydentist she has become a valued member of the team. Azra enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, from routine check-ups to more complex restorative procedures. Her passion lies in creating a calm and welcoming environment where patients feel truly heard and supported in achieving their dental goals. She takes the time to understand each patient’s individual needs and concerns. Her empathetic and gentle approach is especially appreciated by patients who experience dental anxiety. Azra is skilled at helping nervous individuals feel relaxed and confident throughout their treatment journey, often transforming their perception of dental visits into a positive, empowering experience. Azra has a keen interest in aesthetic dentistry and is certified in both Invisalign Go and ClearCorrect, offering discreet orthodontic solutions tailored to each patient’s lifestyle and preferences. She has also completed advanced training in direct composite veneers, enabling her to enhance smiles with minimally invasive techniques that deliver natural-looking results. Outside of the clinic, Azra enjoys expressing her creativity through arts and crafts, cooking and pilates.

Aniqa Saeed Khan GDP

Aniqa graduated from the University of Health Sciences, Pakistan in 2007. She gained versatile experience in oral surgery, restorative and prosthodontic treatments during her time working in Pakistan. She then moved to United Kingdom and undertook the Overseas Registration Exam conducted by the General Dental Council to enable her to practice dentistry in the UK. She joined the Lancaster practice in 2017 and since then has worked as a general dentist for mydentist. Aniqa is constantly learning and developing her skills, she is a provider of ClearCorrect aligners and SmileFast helping to transform patients smiles. When Aniqa is not at work she enjoys oil painting, socialising with her friends and spending time with her family.

Hadeer Bhutta GDP

Dr Hadeer Bhutta is a dentist with advanced international training and a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in a comfortable setting. She graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2013 and holds several postgraduate qualifications, including MFDS RCSEd, DClinDent (Distinction, University of Sheffield), M Prost RCSEd, LDS RCSEng, and FHEA. She has clinical experience across the United Arab Emirates and currently works as a Clinical Teacher at the University of Sheffield, where she enjoys supporting and mentoring future dentists. With a strong interest in lifelong learning, she stays up to date with the latest techniques to provide evidence-based care. Dr Hadeer Bhutta loves fixing smiles, providing NHS, myoptions and Private care. She also has a special interest in creating high-quality, comfortable dentures that restore both confidence and function.
Outside of dentistry, Dr Hadeer Bhutta enjoys spending time outdoors with family and friends. She looks forward to seeing you in practice!

Miriam graduated from Trinity College in Dublin ,Ireland in 1994. She then began Vocational training in Isle of Lewis and Glasgow dental hospital.Miriam worked in Australia for 1 year mainly in Cairns Base Hospital but also travelled with flying doctor service to Torres Strait Islands and to mining settlementsMiriam began working in Mayo dental in 2002.She has a Special interest in Cerezen which treats TMJ/ Teeth Grinding.Miriam is Married with two children and when she is not working she is kept busy by Taxiing her two very sporty children to County, National and International competitions she also enjoys holidaying in Ireland at every opportunity she gets.

Dr Sohaib Ehsan graduated from Semmelweis University Dental School in 2012 and completed his foundation training in the North East of England, where he gained a strong grounding in all areas of patient care. He joined mydentist in 2015 and has been based in Lancashire ever since, providing high‑quality dentistry in a calm and supportive environment. Sohaib is committed to ongoing professional development and has furthered his expertise by completing a Master’s degree in Dental Implantology with Merit at Edge Hill University. He has a particular interest in restoring missing teeth with dental implants, straightening teeth using clear aligners, and delivering cosmetic treatments, including smile makeovers with porcelain veneers. Known for his friendly and approachable manner, Sohaib takes pride in building strong relationships with his patients. He focuses on understanding individual needs and tailoring treatment plans to help each person achieve a healthy, confident smile. Outside of mydentist, Sohaib enjoys travelling, playing padel, and spending quality time with his young family.

Sorin Caba studied dentistry at the University of Bucharest where he qualified in 2003. Sorin worked in multiple general private practices in Bucharest until 2013 when he joined the {my}dentist Garstang and Lancaster Team. In 2018 Sorin completed a MSc in Endodontics at the University of Chester and since he has completed many successful endodontic treatments alongside with his other general dentist role. Sorin accepts referrals for endodontic treatments from other colleagues across the county. As part of his continuous development, Sorin receives practical guidance from his endodontist mentor in Amsterdam. He likes to approach his patients in an openhearted and friendly manner, always focusing on delivering high standards of dental care. When he is out of work, Sorin enjoys attending UK and overseas conferences, discovering and spending time in nature, reading and cycling.

Syed Maududi studied dentistry at the University of Birmingham where he qualified in 1993. Syed then began to work in general practice. In 1999 he then decided to return to education in which he gained an MSC in Dental Public Health from the Eastmans Dental institute.Syed joined {my}dentist Lancaster in April 2013 and thoroughly enjoys working in general practice, he particularly enjoys cosmetic treatments including crowns, bridges and veneers. Syed has gone on to do further training in which he has a special interest in cosmetic teeth straightening.When Syed is not at work he enjoys reading and travelling.

Tom Harrison GDP

Dr Harrison studied dentistry at Newcastle upon Tyne where he qualified in 2005, then completing a year’s vocational training in Carlisle. He has also worked as an out of hours emergency care dentist across multiple sites and has since worked in private and NHS dental practices in Cumbria and North Lancashire. Dr Harrison joined us here at mydentist Lancaster in 2012 where he works as an NHS and private dentist. In 2013 Dr Harrison became a dental mentor and has since mentored many dentists. In 2015 he became Clinical Lead in Lancaster and in 2016 became Clinical Support Manager for mydentist for the Cumbria and Greater Manchester area. He has attended several courses to enhance his skills further such as Zoom! teeth whitening, Enlighten teeth whitening, clear aligners for teeth straightening, SmileFast and restorative options.

Wendy Steel Therapist

Wendy began her journey in the field of dentistry in 2003 at the age of 18. She qualified as a dental nurse in 2005. That same year, she took a significant step forward by enrolling in the Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Therapy. Wendy was one of the students to qualify in 2007 on a new outreach initiative to provide dentistry in rural locations. Her first professional role was at HMP Haverigg, where she provided essential dental care. Alongside this, she also delivered NHS services to the wider community, gaining valuable experience in both clinical practice and patient care. Over time, Wendy transitioned into private dentistry, where she has continued to thrive and develop her skills.
Today, Wendy primarily works in the picturesque village of Windermere, where she was raised and still feels deeply connected to the local community. In addition to her work there, she also visits our Lancaster practice once a month, offering private hygiene appointments. Her presence is always warmly welcomed, and she has become a highly valued member of the team since joining us in 2023.
Outside of her professional life, Wendy is a devoted and energetic mum to her two beautiful daughters.
