Dr Rafia Hammad graduated in 2010 from Khyber College of Dentistry Peshawar, Pakistan. After moving to the UK she completed her licensing exam and degree from Royal College of Surgeons of England ie LDS in 2018 along with completing MFDS by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Rafia joined the practice in 2020 as an associate dentist with a keen interest to develop her skills in general and cosmetic dentistry. She enjoys attending courses and upskilling her current dental skills and also attending coursing to learn new skills. In her short amount of time at the practice she has become a great asset of the team and stands out for her exceptional patient care. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and children.

Richard Joined the team at Bargoed in Febuary 2020, since joining the team he has built a great relationship with the staff and patients at the pracice. Rhichard enjoys all aspects of NHS dentistry and exceeding all expectations of patients with the service he provides. Richard also offers Private appointments outside of his working hours to ensure that everyone has access to the practice and treatments can be provided to patients not registered. Richard likes to make all his patients feel at ease when coming to practice, and does this by spending time chatting to patients. Richard has lots of hobbies outside of work including music, magic, skiing, scuba diving and cooking just to name a few.

Sharmila Gaitonde GDP

Dr Sharmila is an accomplished and highly respected dental practitioner with more than three decades of clinical experience. She graduated from the esteemed Nair Hospital Dental College in 1986, where she built a strong foundation in comprehensive dental care and developed a deep commitment to patient wellbeing.
In 1993, she moved to the United Kingdom to further advance her professional career. The following year, in 1994, she successfully completed the UK Statutory Examination.
Her interest in implant dentistry began early in her career, and she has been placing dental implants since 1998.
With extensive experience in implantology and restorative dentistry, Sharmila is known for her meticulous approach, compassionate manner, and unwavering focus on delivering personalised, evidence-based treatment for every patient.
Outside her clinical work, she enjoys gardening and reading, pursuits that reflect her calm, thoughtful nature and love of continuous learning.

Elyse is a healthcare professional driven to improve lives through better oral health. Elyse has worked at the practice since 2021, and has built a great relationship with her patients and colleagues. She focuses on patient education, preventative care and creating a welcoming environment. She qualified as a Dental Hygienist from Cardiff University (2020), where she was top of her class, gaining her an award in dental excellence. Be sure not to miss regular appointments with her on Tuesdays, to keep your smile bright and healthy.When Elyse is not in work, she enjoys travelling and spending time with Family and Friends.
