Dr Mustaque Ahmed graduated as a dentist from the University of Birmingham in 1998. He has worked at the Meir practice ever since. He passed his MJDF Diploma exams for the Royal College of Surgeons (Eng) in 2014. He is a firm believer in continual professional development, having completed a number of university courses over the last 22 years. He is also a mentor to other dentists.Mustaque enjoys carrying out cosmetic work and helping people restore their confidence in their face and smile. He is trained in facial aesthetics, which complements his experience in placing implants, bridges and dentures. He can carry out orthodontic treatments using both fixed braces and aligners. Away from dentistry Mustaque enjoys travelling abroad and spending time with his family.

Sharaniah Balakrishnan graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Glasgow in 2022. Since qualifying, she has been dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centred dental care in a calm and welcoming environment. She understands that visiting the dentist can be daunting for many people and takes pride in helping patients feel at ease by listening to their concerns, explaining treatment options clearly and providing gentle, compassionate care. Sharaniah has a particular interest in restorative dentistry and enjoys helping patients improve both the function and appearance of their smiles. She is committed to providing evidence-based treatment and regularly attends courses to further develop her clinical skills and knowledge. By keeping up to date with advances in dentistry, she aims to ensure her patients benefit from current techniques and approaches to care. She also hopes to pursue specialist training in restorative dentistry in the future. Outside of work, Sharaniah enjoys travelling, keeping fit and spending quality time with family and friends. She values maintaining a healthy work-life balance and brings the same positive and friendly approach to her interactions with patients.

Staikos Andreakis GDP

Staikos graduated from Aristotle university of Thessoloniki, Greece in 2005 and after completing his national service in Greece as a military dentist, moved to England to join Meir Dental Centre in 2007. He went on to complete an Msc in Dental Implantology from the University of Central Lancashire in 2013 and has since completed training in Denture Excellence and ClearCorrect (teeth straigtening with clear aligners). He is a friendly dentist who loves to have a chat and a laugh with his patients and he is especially good at treating nervous patients. Outside of work, Staikos is a keen runner and enjoys spending family time with his wife and three sons.
