Dr Mustaque Ahmed GDP

Dr Mustaque Ahmed graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1998 and has worked at Meir Dental Practice ever since. With more than 25 years of dental experience, he is committed to providing high-quality care to both NHS and private patients. Mustaque passed his MJDF Diploma examinations with the Royal College of Surgeons (England) in 2014 and strongly advocates continuing professional development. Throughout his career, he has completed several university courses and continues to develop his skills and knowledge. He also plays an important role in supporting and guiding other dentists within the practice. Mustaque enjoys all aspects of dentistry, with a particular interest in cosmetic treatments that help patients restore confidence in their smiles. His training in facial aesthetics complements his experience in providing dental implants, bridges and dentures. He also offers orthodontic treatment using both fixed braces and aligner systems, including ClearCorrect, Quick Straight Teeth and Six Month Smiles. Known for his patient-focused approach, Mustaque works closely with patients to understand their goals and provide tailored treatment options. Outside of dentistry, he enjoys travelling and spending time with his family.

Sharaniah Balakrishnan graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Glasgow in 2022. Since qualifying, she has been dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centred dental care in a calm and welcoming environment. She understands that visiting the dentist can be daunting for many people and takes pride in helping patients feel at ease by listening to their concerns, explaining treatment options clearly and providing gentle, compassionate care. Sharaniah has a particular interest in restorative dentistry and enjoys helping patients improve both the function and appearance of their smiles. She is committed to providing evidence-based treatment and regularly attends courses to further develop her clinical skills and knowledge. By keeping up to date with advances in dentistry, she aims to ensure her patients benefit from current techniques and approaches to care. She also hopes to pursue specialist training in restorative dentistry in the future. Outside of work, Sharaniah enjoys travelling, keeping fit and spending quality time with family and friends. She values maintaining a healthy work-life balance and brings the same positive and friendly approach to her interactions with patients.

Staikos Andreakis GDP

Staikos graduated from Aristotle university of Thessoloniki, Greece in 2005 and after completing his national service in Greece as a military dentist, moved to England to join Meir Dental Centre in 2007. He went on to complete an Msc in Dental Implantology from the University of Central Lancashire in 2013 and has since completed training in Denture Excellence and ClearCorrect (teeth straigtening with clear aligners). He is a friendly dentist who loves to have a chat and a laugh with his patients and he is especially good at treating nervous patients. Outside of work, Staikos is a keen runner and enjoys spending family time with his wife and three sons.

Nina Ward Dental Hygienist

Nina Ward began her dental career in 1996 as a trainee dental nurse with the Community Dental Service. After qualifying, she found the role so rewarding that she decided to further develop her skills and take on more responsibility in patient care. In 2001, she secured a place at Birmingham Dental Hospital to train as a Dental Hygienist. Since qualifying, Nina has gained valuable experience working in community, private and corporate dental settings, caring for patients of all ages and backgrounds. She is passionate about helping patients improve their oral health and achieve smiles they can feel confident about. Known for her gentle, supportive approach, Nina is committed to helping patients feel comfortable during their appointments. She enjoys building positive relationships with her patients and helping them reach their oral health goals through personalised care and advice. For Nina, one of the most rewarding parts of her role is supporting patients on their journey to healthier smiles and greater confidence. Outside of work, Nina enjoys spending time with her two daughters. Whether they are baking together or enjoying family days out with their horses, she loves creating special memories and making the most of her time with family.
