After graduating from Newcastle Dental School, Josie has worked in both NHS and Private practices. In 2010, Josie completed the Francis Nohl Implant Course, allowing her to place and restore implants with bone augmentation where appropriate. This is an area of dentistry she is particularly passionate about – to be able to give patients their smiles and confidence back. Josie joined mydentist Dean Road in November 2024 as part of our ever expanding Implant Team and offers treatments from single tooth replacement to restoring full mouth dentition. Josie also enjoys oral surgery, orthodontics and restorative dentistry and is a member of the ITI and ADI. Josie lives in Newcastle with her 2 children and in her spare time, enjoys running, trips to the theatre and baking.

Charalambos Eftychiou, known as Haris by his patients, graduated with Magna Cum Laude honours from the European University of Cyprus in 2024. Born and raised in Cyprus, he is passionate about providing high-quality, patient-centred dentistry and enjoys building strong relationships with his patients, helping them feel comfortable, informed and confident throughout their dental journey. Haris enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and has a particular interest in dental extractions and oral surgery. He finds great satisfaction in relieving patients' dental pain while providing a calm, reassuring experience. He also has a keen interest in aesthetic dentistry and has completed advanced training in composite bonding, supporting patients in achieving natural-looking, confident smiles. Committed to continuous professional development, Haris is always looking to expand his knowledge and skills. In September 2026, he started an MSc in Dental Implantology at the University of Salford in Manchester, further developing his surgical and restorative expertise and broadening the treatment options he can offer patients. Outside of dentistry, Haris is a passionate Premier League fan who enjoys watching and playing football.

Clodagh Casey GDP

Clodagh Casey graduated from Newcastle University in 2023 and is currently completing a two-year postgraduate diploma in Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry, further developing her skills and knowledge. After qualifying, Clodagh spent two years working in emergency access clinics, helping patients to resolve dental pain and providing urgent treatment to restore comfort and oral health. This experience helped shape her calm and caring approach, particularly when supporting patients who may feel worried or anxious about visiting the dentist. Clodagh especially enjoys treating nervous patients and believes that taking the time to listen, understand concerns and explain treatment options clearly can make a real difference to a patient's experience. She is committed to ensuring every patient feels comfortable, supported and confident throughout their dental journey. Providing a range of NHS and private treatments, Clodagh is passionate about delivering high-quality, personalised dental care tailored to each patient's individual needs. She enjoys helping patients maintain good oral health while supporting them in achieving smiles they can feel happy and confident about. Through her patient-centred approach and commitment to ongoing professional development, Clodagh strives to create a positive experience and provide the highest standard of care for every patient she treats.

Joseph Ross Mellen GDP

Joe graduated from Newcastle University in 2023 and has been committed to providing high-quality, patient-focused care ever since. He completed further clinical training in Seaham before joining the team in Wallsend in 2024. Joe delivers all aspects of NHS dental care and offers a wide range of private treatments, ensuring patients receive care tailored to their individual needs.
He has completed additional training in clear aligner therapy for discreet teeth straightening and is currently studying towards a postgraduate diploma in restorative and aesthetic dentistry. Joe combines up-to-date clinical knowledge with a gentle, ethical approach to help patients achieve healthy, confident smiles.
Joe has also worked within the NHS Emergency Dental Access service, gaining valuable experience managing urgent dental issues calmly and effectively. He particularly enjoys helping nervous patients feel at ease—even during emergency appointments.
Originally from the Cumbria, Joe now lives in Newcastle. Outside of work, he enjoys playing and watching football, spending time with friends and family, and staying active.

Dr Laura Smith graduated with a BDS from Newcastle University in 2009, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her practice. Passionate about various aspects of dentistry, she particularly enjoys working with composite fillings, Enlighten tooth whitening, flexible dentures, and extractions. Dr. Smith has also developed a specialism in anti-wrinkle injections, tooth grinding/TMD with botulinum toxin treatment, and Enlighten tooth whitening. Currently focused on delivering clear aligner treatment, Dr Smith is always seeking opportunities for professional growth. Outside work, she leads an active life, finding joy in baking, reading, hiking, and going on holiday. Dr. Smith's compassionate nature extends to her dental practice, where she takes pride in calming nervous patients and providing exceptional care, especially to children.

After graduating from dental university in Brazil at IMED-RS in 2014, she pursued a post-graduation in Aesthetic Dentistry, further enhancing her expertise. With a particular interest in periodontal health, Bruna is passionate about helping patients achieve and maintain healthy smiles. Since the end of 2024, Bruna has been working as a dental therapist in the UK, creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for patients. Outside of work, Bruna enjoys spending time with her cat, gaming and exploring the countryside on walks with her husband.
