Dr.Carl Horton

Carl Horton is passionate about dentistry and has travelled the world sharing his knowledge and lecturing extensively on treatment models and his pioneering research. After graduating from Birmingham Dental Hospital in 1996 Carl worked predominately in private general practice. He went on to complete an MSc in periodontology and has gained an MSc in implantology.
Carl, who has lectured on international platforms in San Francisco, Gothenburg and Athens, also assists in the training of foundation stage dentists at Birmingham University, in both clinical practice and restorative procedures, as well as delivering postgraduate lectures. With a special interest in periodontology and treating patients with aesthetic concerns, his vast experience covers all aspects of periodontal care, implants, guided tissue regeneration and grafting techniques to replace lost gum and bone.
Carl has a jargon-free approach, joining a growing number of dentists who wish to challenge negative preconceptions building friendly, patient-focused image for their profession.

Dr.Neil Simkin

Neil qualified from Birmingham Dental School in 1998 and started at the {my}dentist practice in Newtown in 2002 where he has continued to develop his knowledge in dentistry and diversity with new treatments. Neil prides himself in providing the highest quality professional dentistry with the patient's experience at the forefront of every treatment plan. Neil provides all aspects of dentistry and accepts referrals for treatments from other clinicians that may feel are outside their skill set, but his real passion is teeth straightening, which he has been offering since 2005. Due to his experience, Neil is a {my}dentist tutor and helps train and mentor other clinicians to provide teeth straightening treatments. He is a Global Ambassador for the Clear Correct brand of aligners and has been recognised at the international conferences in 2021 and 2022 with awards for the way he goes about his offering treatments and the ongoing training and mentorship he offers to other clinicians across the UK. Within {my}dentist, he is a Clinical Development Advisor and works with other clinicians and the company to ensure treatment choices offered to patients are effective.

Mr.Adnan Adam Alsusa

Adnan is an enthusiastic dentist; providing the highest standard of care for his patients is at the forefront of his passion for the profession. Adnan qualified in Germany in 2019, where he continued to work in general practice before moving back to the UK in 2021. Adnan has continued to learn and upskill since qualifying, attending a number of courses in both Germany and the UK in order to be in a position to provide his patients dentistry of a high quality using modern techniques. He has experience in treating full mouth rehabilitation cases, provides clear braces using the Straumann ClearCorrect aligner system, as well as being competent in providing ‘everyday dentistry’ such as crowns, dentures, veneers and endodontics. Adnan has a straightforward and calming approach to treating his patients, conveying information in a clear and concise manner and ensuring that all patient needs are met to the highest standard. Adnan also accepts referrals from nearby practices for complex extractions.

Mr.Joe Dowie

Dr Joe Dowie qualified from the prestigious Kings College London in Dentistry achieving multiple awards including The Maurice Wahl award for highest standard of dentistry & The Academy of Operative Dentistry Award for excellence in operative skill. He has a keen interest in periodontology and provides hygiene and periodontal treatment at our Newtown Advanced Oral Health Centre, helping to provide our patients with a bright white smile to be proud of and helping to stabilise and undo gum disease.One of the first things you notice when you meet Dr Joe is just how much he genuinely cares and puts your individual needs first, a keen listener who wants to help you achieve your perfect smile.

Mrs.Katherine Pearce

Katie graduated from Edinburgh University in 1983 and has worked in a wide variety of settings before settling in Mid Wales 2003. There she cared for adults privately and children on the NHS. She has a broad experience of general practice with interests in prevention and gum health. As a reluctant patient she has empathy with nervous patients and will spend time with them. She believes in a whole mouth whole person approach, educating patients to help themselves alongside appropriate treatment.
Living in Mid Wales Katie , keeps a large eco-friendly garden with bees, open for NGS. Keen on wild swimming and walking but also a wide range of needle crafts, wool crafts, repair cafes and the like.
