    Ayesha Haris GDP Qualified from: Statutory Exam 2025 BDS Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences 2017 GDC No: 328547

    Ayesha Haris was born and raised in Delhi, India, where she completed her dental degree in 2016. Since then, she has enjoyed working as a General Dentist, caring for patients from a wide range of backgrounds and building meaningful relationships through her work. Moving to the UK marked an exciting new chapter in Ayesha’s life, giving her the opportunity to experience a new culture, meet new people and continue her personal and professional development as part of the team at Westoe. Ayesha’s approachable and friendly nature helps her build rapport with those around her, and she enjoys getting to know the people she meets through her role. Her enthusiasm for learning and exploring new experiences extends beyond her professional life and shapes her positive outlook. Outside of dentistry, Ayesha enjoys travelling and discovering new places, particularly those with a mysterious or historic character. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends, learning about different cultures and history, and finding cosy coffee spots to visit. When relaxing, she can often be found enjoying a long walk, reading a good book or watching a thrilling film.

    Hugo Ng GDP Qualified from: BDS Newcastle University 2018 GDC No: 277985

    Hugo qualified from Newcastle University in 2018, with degrees in Biomedical Sciences as well as Dentistry. He has recently moved back to the North East after moving back home after University. He is committed to constantly improving himself within the profession, and is passionate and proud about the dental services we provide here at Westoe Road. He enjoys being a part of the team here and loves nothing more than winning round a nervous patient, or putting the smile back on someone’s face. He has completed ClearCorrect training and offers this to new and existing patients. He provide both private and NHS treatment here at Westoe Road.

  • Jake Thomas
    Jake Thomas GDP Qualified from: BDS Newcastle University 2012 GDC No: 228855

    Jake joined the practice in 2012 after graduating from Newcastle Dental School. He is very passionate about dentistry and treating his patients to the highest standard with a very caring approach. He has completed additional training in restorative dentistry and teeth straightening, using Invisalign, to offer his patients a wide range of dental treatments to address all their clinical needs. Outside of dentistry he tries to stay active and is the captain of a (very unsuccessful) 5 a side team and play in a local competitive league. He is also a bit of a foodie and likes to try different restaurants around the North East.

  • Joshua Jackson
    Joshua Jackson GDP Qualified from: BDS University of Liverpool 2020 GDC No: 289285

    Joshua Jackson graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2020 with honours and distinctions in Restorative Dentistry, Oral Diseases and Oral Health. During his studies, he received seven additional awards, recognising achievements including the highest standard of operative skill in his year group and outstanding examination results. Joshua is currently a Speciality Registrar in Periodontology at Newcastle Dental Hospital, where he focuses on preventing, diagnosing and treating gum disease, as well as managing issues related to dental implants. He is also a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Alongside his specialist training, Joshua provides a range of private treatments at Westoe on Saturdays and Monday evenings. He has extensive experience in removable orthodontic treatments, including ClearCorrect, and enjoys helping patients improve both the health and appearance of their smiles. He also accepts referrals from clinicians across the region for managing advanced and complex gum conditions. Committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, Joshua combines his specialist knowledge with a professional and supportive approach, ensuring patients feel informed and confident throughout their treatment journey. Outside of dentistry, Joshua enjoys travelling and spending time with his family in Southport and Ireland.

  • Kathryn Mccormack
    Kathryn Mccormack GDP Qualified from: BDS University of Birmingham 1996 GDC No: 71752

    Kathryn graduated from Birmingham University in 1996 and spent the following 10 years working in a family practice in Evesham in the Cotswolds. In 2006 she moved to Leicestershire to work in a private practice before moving back home to Newcastle where she worked as a locum dentist. Kathryn has been happily practising at Westoe Road for the past 13 years- making her one of our longest serving dentists. In 2009 she became a post graduate trainer, a role she held till 2012. During this time, she achieved a Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Professional Practice with distinction. Kathryn offers a range of private treatments and is proud to be a Denture of Excellence brand holder. In her spare time Kathryn enjoys keeping fit and loves to explore different countries, especially her favourite country, Italy.

  • Marrwah Elhakeem
    Marrwah Elhakeem GDP Qualified from: BDS European University Cyprus 2025 GDC No: 330787

    Marrwah Elhakeem joined the practice after graduating cum laude from the European University of Cyprus in 2025 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Before studying dentistry, she completed a BSc in Medical Sciences at Dalhousie University, where she co-founded the Dalhousie Pre-Dental Society and graduated on the Dean’s List. Since joining the practice, Marrwah has demonstrated a strong commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centred care. She is passionate about building trusting relationships with both patients and colleagues, believing that clear communication and mutual trust are key to creating positive experiences and achieving the best possible outcomes. Her friendly and approachable manner helps patients feel comfortable, supported and confident throughout their dental journey. Committed to continuous professional development, Marrwah is highly motivated by further education and training and is a prospective student in dental aesthetics. She enjoys developing her skills and knowledge and approaches new challenges with determination and enthusiasm. Outside of dentistry, Marrwah enjoys meeting new people and maintaining an active social life. She loves travelling, attending local events and exploring different cuisines. She also enjoys expressing her creativity through art, crafts and music, making the most of opportunities to learn new skills and experiences both professionally and personally.

  • Timothy Perowne
    Timothy Perowne GDP Qualified from: BDS Newcastle University 2001 GDC No: 79420

    Tim qualified from Newcastle University in 2001. He completed vocational training in Stockton and worked in NHS practice in Middlesbrough before a move to private practice in New Zealand. He began working at Westoe Road Dental Practice in 2006. Tim became a Member of The Joint Dental Faculties (MJDF) at the Royal College of Surgeons in 2008. He is involved in dental education and has been an educational supervisor of dental graduates since 2009, and has previously taught undergraduates at Newcastle Dental School in the Restorative Department. In his spare time he enjoys running and has completed a number of half marathons.

  • Verity Wightman
    Verity Wightman GDP Qualified from: BDS Newcastle University 2012 GDC No: 229271

    Verity qualified from the University of Newcastle in 2006 with a degree in Biomedical Sciences before changing direction and going on to study dentistry. She qualified in 2012 and started working at Westoe Road in 2017, having previously worked near Durham. She is a friendly, welcoming dentist and particularly enjoys working with nervous patients of all ages. She has recently completed ClearCorrect training and now offers teeth straightening to new and existing patients. Outside of her work in dentistry she enjoys spending as much time as possible outdoors; walking in the Lakes or freezing herself in the North Sea.

  • Ziad Mahmoud Elbiaa
    Ziad Mahmoud Elbiaa GDP Qualified from: BDS Newcastle University 2025 GDC No: 327907

    Ziad Elbiaa is an Associate Dentist providing both NHS and private dental care. Having qualified with a BDS and recently completed his foundation training, he brings a modern, evidence-based approach to dentistry and is committed to delivering high-quality care tailored to each patient's individual needs. Ziad particularly enjoys restorative dentistry, helping to repair and rebuild teeth while supporting patients in achieving healthy, confident smiles. He takes great satisfaction in seeing the positive difference treatment can make and is dedicated to ensuring patients feel comfortable and supported throughout their dental journey. Knowing that visiting the dentist can feel daunting for some people, Ziad takes a calm, patient-centred approach to care. He is particularly mindful of nervous patients and takes the time to explain procedures and treatment options in clear, straightforward language. At Westoe Road, Ziad is committed to building trusting relationships and ensuring every patient receives the highest standard of care in a welcoming environment. Outside of dentistry, Ziad enjoys staying active and spending time with family and friends. He also has a keen interest in well-engineered cars, appreciating the attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.

  • Bruna Di Domenico
    Bruna Di Domenico Therapist Qualified from: Registered under s36C of the Dentists Act 1984 2024 GDC No: 321295

    Bruna is originally a Brazilian dentist living in England and working as a dental therapist in the UK. After graduating from dental university in Brazil at IMED-RS in 2014, she pursued a post-graduation in Aesthetic Dentistry, further enhancing her expertise. With a particular interest in periodontal health, Bruna is passionate about helping patients achieve and maintain healthy smiles. Since the end of 2024, Bruna has been working as a dental therapist in the UK, creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for patients. Outside of work, Bruna enjoys spending time with her cat, gaming and exploring the countryside on walks with her husband.

  • Caroline Smith
    Caroline Smith Therapist Qualified from: BSc Oral and Dental Health Sciences Newcastle University 2019 GDC No: 191293

    Caroline worked previously as a Dental Nurse for 8 years in her hometown South Shields. Throughout this time, she did various post qualifications (radiography, impression taking and application of Fluoride varnish). Volunteering twice to work in Tanzania, Africa with a dental charity called Bridge2Aid, Caroline enjoyed the challenge and opportunity, which also enhanced her clinical skills, providing emergency dental treatment to some of the most rural parts of Africa. Caroline learnt that an important aspect of patient care was to help to relax anxious patients whilst delivering oral hygiene messages to both children and adults. After this life changing experience, she decided to follow her long-standing passion and ambition of pursuing a career as a Dental Hygienist/Therapist. In 2016 Caroline was delighted to be offered a place to study at Newcastle University. In 2019 she graduated and qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Oral and Dental Health Sciences. She is very passionate about delivering a high standard of care to all patients. In her spare time Caroline enjoys Ice skating at Whitley Bay Ice Rink, going on country walks and riding her bike along the coast. She also enjoys travelling and spending time with her friends, family and two cats.
