Aoife graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2016 and attained professional exams to become a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2017. After completing university, Aoife then spent two years working in general practice and Edinburgh Dental Hospital providing specialist care in Oral Surgery, Paediatric and Restorative Dentistry. This experience has given her a wide range of skills which she implements into her every day practice. Aoife moved back home to Derry in September 2018 and joined our practice. Aoife is committed to providing the highest quality of dental care for her patients and works hard to make them feel at ease.

Heather graduated in Dental Surgery from Queen's University Belfast in 2004 with an honours degree and distinction in 'The Practice of Dentistry', 'Orthodontics', 'Oral Surgery', 'Oral Microbiology', 'Medicine in Dentistry' and 'Paediatrics'.Heather returned to her native Derry and worked in a practice in the waterside area for three years before joining Collon Dental Care in 2007 now Mydentist, Collon. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry, particularly endodontics and dealing with anxious patients and she's happy to provide treatment under the NHS or on a private basis. Outside of work she enjoys films, reading and walking on Donegal beaches.

Desire Takaindisa Hygienist

Desire Tapiwa Takaindisa is a Dental Hygienist who is committed to helping patients maintain good oral health and takes pride in providing supportive, patient-centred care in a welcoming and professional environment. Desire graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Zimbabwe College of Health Sciences in 2009. He is currently studying towards the Overseas Registration Examination (ORE), further developing his knowledge and skills within the UK dental profession. Building positive relationships with patients is central to Desire’s approach to care. He enjoys helping patients feel comfortable, informed and confident in managing their oral health, and values the positive feedback he receives from those he supports. By taking the time to listen and provide personalised guidance, he aims to create a positive experience at every appointment. Committed to continuous professional development, Desire is particularly interested in gaining further experience in aesthetic dentistry and orthodontic treatment. He is passionate about expanding his clinical knowledge and developing his skills to support patient care. Outside of dentistry, Desire enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, and watching and playing football. He is bilingual, speaking both English and Shona, which helps him communicate with and support a wide range of patients.
