Dr Emma Henley Orthodontist

Dr Emma Henley is the only Orthodontic Specialist at our Swansea Practice. She has additional expertise enabling provision for patients that require specialised orthodontic care. Emma graduated from University of Dundee in 2002 she has worked as a Vocational Trainee, a Community Dental Officer, Senior House Officer in Paediatrics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Restorative and Oral Medicine in England and Scotland. Emma gained her MFDS from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2004. She completed her Orthodontic Specialist training at Cardiff University. Emma was awarded a distinction for her MScD and she gained her Membership in Orthodontics (MOrth) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2010. Most of Emma’s spare time is spent with her family taking them to football, netball, cricket or surfing. Otherwise she will be out running with the dog. Emma provides private orthodontic treatment to a mixture of children and adults, Emma gets great satisfaction from a wonderful orthodontic result. With the demand for more aesthetic orthodontic appliances, Emma enjoys helping her patients’ treatment wishes become reality using Invisalign clear aligners, WIN lingual appliances and Tooth Coloured Ceramic Fixed Appliances.

Sarah Alwan Orthodontist

Dr Sarah Alwan is a Specialist Orthodontist with a passion for creating confident, healthy smiles through kind, patient‑centred care. Sarah graduated from the University of Bristol with multiple academic awards before completing her Foundation Training in Sheffield. She went on to gain valuable experience in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in East Yorkshire and later worked in Restorative Dentistry at Morriston Hospital in Swansea, where she cared for patients with complex dental needs and those recovering from head and neck cancer. Alongside her hospital work, Sarah has treated patients in private practice and was named Dentistry Magazine’s Best Young Dentist Wales 2022. She has a strong interest in education and is a lecturer at Swansea University, contributing to postgraduate teaching on the Medical Education Master’s programme. Sarah completed her specialist orthodontic training in Newcastle, gaining extensive experience across a wide range of cases, and obtained her Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She also holds a Master’s in Clinical Research focusing on orthodontic education and training in the UK. Patients value Sarah’s gentle approach, attention to detail, and commitment to providing the highest standard of orthodontic care.

Alison Lane Orthodontic Therapist

Alison started her career as a General Dental Nurse and qualified in 1994. In 1995 Alison started work in the Dental Department of Kings College London and later joined the Maxillofacial Department where she also qualified in Sedation. Alison went on to work at a local Specialist Orthodontic Practice and qualified in Radiography and Dental Impression Taking, Alison later qualified as an Orthodontic Therapist in 2014, Dip Orth Therapy, Royal College of Surgeons London. Alison's aim as an Orthodontic Therapist is to provide all her patients with a dazzling smile.When not in work you will find Alison relaxing with her two dogs Rosie and Max and baking delicious cakes in the kitchen.

Anantha Davies Orthodontic Therapist

Ana Davies began her career in general dentistry in 2012 and went on to qualify as an Orthodontic Therapist in 2017, achieving the DipOrth RCS (Ed) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Since qualifying, she has gained a wealth of experience working across a variety of clinical and hospital settings throughout Wales and England, developing strong skills in delivering high-quality orthodontic care. Ana particularly enjoys being part of a friendly, supportive team and finds great satisfaction in helping patients feel more confident in their smiles. She is passionate about building strong relationships with her patients, taking the time to get to know them and guide them through every stage of their treatment journey. For Ana, the most rewarding part of her role is seeing the transformation in her patients and witnessing their “first smile” moment at the end of treatment. Outside of work, Ana enjoys a busy family life as a proud mum. She loves spending time by the sea, whether surfing, hiking along the coast, climbing mountains, or planning family adventures abroad.

Nadine Tonta Orthodontic Therapist

Nadine started her career in Dental Nursing in 1996 and qualified as a Dental Nurse in 1998. Nadine joined a Specialist Orthodontic Practice and went on to further her carrer in becoming one of the first qualifed Orthodontic Therapists in Wales qualifiying in 2009 Dip Orth Therapy, Royal College of Surgeons, London. Nadine is also qualified in Radiography and is certified in IOTN (Index of Orthodontic Treament Need). Nadine takes pride in her work and believes every patient deserves a beautiful smile.When not in work you will find Nadine spending time with her family and being active in Judo, Yoga and a Qualified Meditation Teacher.

Samantha Mansfield Orthodontic Therapist

Samantha Mansfield began her career in dentistry in 2008, qualifying as a Dental Nurse in 2010 while working in a general dental practice in Carmarthen. Her passion for patient care continued to grow, leading her to join a specialist orthodontic practice in 2015, where she developed a keen interest in orthodontics. During this time, Samantha expanded her skillset by qualifying in Dental Radiography and Dental Impression Taking, building a strong foundation for her future career. She then advanced further by undertaking the Orthodontic Therapy course at Warwick Medical School, qualifying in July 2020. Now working across our orthodontic centres in Swansea and Bridgend, Samantha is dedicated to helping patients achieve confident, healthy smiles. She enjoys getting to know her patients and supporting them throughout their treatment journey, ensuring they feel comfortable and well cared for. Outside of work, Samantha enjoys spending quality time with her family, creating special memories and planning new adventures. She also loves shopping and treating herself to a luxury coffee.
