Matt Arnold, originally from Northern Ireland, came to study dentistry at Newcastle University in 2004, graduating with a Merit in clinical dentistry. After qualifying, Matt always enjoyed looking after anxious patients, building their trust and delivering pain-free dentistry. He returned to Newcastle University to gain a Diploma in Conscious Sedation. Matt uses sedation to treat very anxious patients who are too apprehensive to have treatment done normally. He is very experienced in this field, having sedated over 5000 patients. Matt enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, but particularly enjoys minimally invasive dentistry, including teeth straightening with clear aligners, replacing gaps with flexible dentures and tooth whitening. He has a passion for providing pain-free dentistry, aiming to build trust with his patients and deliver a smile they can be confident in. Matt also has an active role within mydentist, travelling to support other clinicians in the North East of England and mentoring recently graduated dentists.

Katherine Halshaw GDP

Kate Halshaw has worked in the practice for many years and recently joined us to do more days with us. Kate offers a mix of both NHS and Private options and can also offer short term orthodontic treatment for those looking to straighten up those teeth. Kate is a keen Sunderland A.F.C supporter and can be found at the Stadium of Light at the weekend cheering the team on through thick and thin. She is also a talented runner and has completed half and full marathons around the world, even in Disney World Florida, which is one of her favourite holiday destinations.

Louise has been with the practice for several years and is definitely part of the practice furniture. Louise offers a mix of both NHS and private treatments and offers a wide range of options especially with crowns and dentures. Louise, like our other dentists, also offers patients the option to join one of our brilliant dental plans which allows patient to keep up with their general dental maintenance and oral health. Outside of work, Louise has two daughters who are more than happy to keep her busy. Between dancing classes, Brownies, and parties it’s no surprise she’s ready to put her feet up at the end of the day.

Natasha Dixon Therapist

Natasha came back to the team in 2023 after previously being a dental nurse in the practice for many years. She left to go to Newcastle University and gain her hygiene and therapy qualifications. After qualifying In 2022 she gained experience in practices around the North East before returning to the practice 3 days a week. She has a wealth of knowledge of all things oral health after her many years in the industry and loves to see her patient smile when they are happy with their sparkling new smile. In her spare time, Natasha enjoys holidays in the sun and spending time with her dog Diego!
