Welcome to mydentist Hessle Road. Located in the West Hull area, we provide highest quality of NHS and private treatment in a warm, welcoming and professional environment. Our success has been driven by providing special care to all our patients in the last 11 years. Offering a range of treatments to perfectly suit our patient’s needs, facilities and giving a friendly, efficient service. Whether you’re a really nervous patient or a denture wearer, we cater to everybody’s needs, with a mixture of private and NHS options. Appointments are available at times to suit you, including after school and in the evenings. Our Treatment Co-ordinator would love to hear from you.     Afroz qualified from Khyber University Pakistan in 2008 and moved to Cottingham . After completion of her foundation year for which she was awarded best trainee of her scheme, she spent two years at Maxillofacial department Hull as a Dental Core Trainee . She has always had an interest in developing her clinical knowledge in the field of minor oral surgery . Afroz’s ethos is centred around her patients, building confidence and reducing anxiety to make coming to the dentist that bit easier. She enjoys family dentistry and helping people to manage their dental health. She has keen interest in all aspects of dentistry , strives to provide outstanding care to all of her patients and is enthusiastic about promoting a preventive approach to dental care. Outside of the practice, Afroz is keen on outdoor pursuits especially hiking and cycling.She loves to travel and spend time with friends and family.

She is known for her gentle and compassionate approach to dentistry, and she makes sure to create a comfortable and relaxed environment for her patients.     Bhargavi studied at Sri Ramachandra University in 2005 graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Chennai, India. Bhargavi moved to the UK in 2008 where she worked at Hull Royal Infirmary in the Maxillofacial Surgery department until 2013. Bhargavi then moved to an NHS dental practice in Hessle where she completed her Vocational Training. In 2016 Bhargavi re-located to Australia for a gap/maternity year but she loved Hull that much she just had to return and here she is working in {my}dentist Hessle Road. Bhargavi loves spending time with her two children and baking sweet things. She has a keen interest in arts, crafts and anything that involves sewing.

    Chris completed his dental degree (merit) from Leeds in 2011. He focuses on giving patients time to discuss options and providing high quality dental care. Since 2012 he has worked as a dentist in practice, alongside working in a hospital setting. He has developed numerous minor oral surgery skills that compliments his implant planning/placement following completion of PG cert in Implantology. Chris prides himself on spending time with patients to explain things and give them choice. He is always keen to learn and pass on knowledge and skills and has been involved in foundation training for a number of years. He also spent time completing a postgraduate qualification and is a member of The Faculty Of Dental Surgeons RCS Ed.
  • Dr.Eleanor McLaughlin Qualified from: Bachelor of Dental Surgery United Kingdom, 2023 GDC No: 309243
    Ellie graduated from the University of Sheffield in July 2023 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Honours in 2023. During her time at university, she had a keen interest in paediatrics and oral surgery. Ellie is currently undertaking further training split between the practice and the hospital in the Maxillofacial Department. In this further training, she is looking forward to gaining more experience with anxious patients and children. Ellie takes a friendly approach to dentistry; she ensures patients feel at ease when they are in the chair. Outside of work Ellie enjoys singing and playing the trombone. In addition to this, Ellie also plays for a local netball team, and she enjoys keeping fit by going to the gym, she also enjoys baking.
  • Dr.Ella Woodhead Qualified from: Bachelor of Dental surgery United Kingdom, 2023 GDC No: 309592
    Ella graduated from the University of Leeds in July 2023 with a distinction joint Master and Bachelor of Dental Surgery. During her time at university, Ella enjoyed cheerleading, and she was a member of the university cheerleading team as a ‘flyer’. In addition to this, her hobbies include yoga, reading, and spending time with friends and family. In between her transition from university to work, she spent her summer travelling around Thailand and America. Ella is currently working in both practices at {my}dentist Hessle Road and in the Maxillofacial Department in hospital. Ella is looking forward to expanding her surgical skills.
  • Dr.Michael Cook Qualified from: BDS Ncle, United Kingdom, 2015 GDC No: 258299
    Michael qualified from Newcastle University in 2015 with BDS. After university he completed 2 years of further training which included experience in oral surgery, advanced adult restorative and specialist children’s dentistry. In addition Michael has also completed the MFDS qualification which is a more advanced set of dental exams which allows membership to the Royal College of Surgeons. Michael has recently completed the Tipton restorative level 7 qualification which teaches more advanced techniques for all fields of dentistry especially cosmetic Dentistry such as veneers. This has increased the quality and range of treatments Michael can now offer. In addition to this Michael has also completed two orthodontic courses (teeth movement) so he can now provide clear correct (clear aligner) and clear brace treatments. This allows Michael to treat mild-moderate cases.
  • Dr.Navdeep Dhinsa Qualified from: Bachelor of Dental Surgery United Kingdom, 2021 GDC No: 295972
    Navdeep studied at the The University of Sheffield and graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in June 2021. Navdeep is currently completing his foundation training. He has a keen interest in restorative dentistry and hopes to pursue this career path in the future. Navdeep always ensures that he spends time with all of his patients so high quality dental care is consistently provided. His ethos is based on building patient confidence, reducing dental anxiety and promoting the importance of oral health. Outside of the practice, Navdeep enjoys playing cricket, going to the gym and spending time with his family.
  • Miss.Lyndsey Archer (Therapist) Qualified from: Dental Hygiene and Therapy DipHE Sheffield UK 2018 United Kingdom, 2018 GDC No: 226893
    Lyndsey qualified as a Dental Therapist from the University of Sheffield in 2018. Whilst studying she gained lots of experience working at the Charles Clifford Teaching Hospital. Her favourite placements were within the community dental services and within the oncology unit. Lyndsey has a calming manner and prides herself on being a friendly and approachable clinician making her good with nervous patients and children. She has an interest in periodontal disease and restorative dentistry. She takes great satisfaction in giving patients the tools they need to improve their overall oral health. Lyndsey accepts patients through in house referrals, both on the NHS and privately, and also by direct access on a private basis. Lyndsey enjoys spending time with her family, going for walks and she is also a member of her local women’s running club.

In his spare time, he has a keen interest in running, golf and walking his dogs.

What are dental implants?
Dental implants are a fixed solution for missing teeth that are the closest possible replacement for natural teeth. They involve one or more titanium screws being inserted into your jawbone to mimic a natural tooth root. Dental crowns are securely attached to these to fill the gaps in your mouth. Because dental implants are securely anchored in your jaw you’ll have the confidence to comfortably eat whatever you like.

  • Consultation Your initial consultation will be with either our Implant Surgeon or Treatment Coordinator (TCO), who can discuss the different types of implants, single or multiple depending on your need. Following this there may be a need for a more clinical focused consultation.

  • Diagnostic Scans We will carry out a number of digital scans, to build a digital 3D model of your mouth so we can get a clear picture of the area we will place the implant, and a more detailed X-ray using a Cone Beam Computer Tomography scanner so that our Implant surgeon can assess the state of the bone below the gum to get a really clear picture of your treatment need.

  • Treatment Plan Once our experienced implant surgeon has assessed all of you scans they will explain the nature of your treatment, the stages involved and costs. We offer flexible payment options to make implants even more affordable.

  • Commence Treatment Once you are happy we will begin treatment. The length and numbers of appointments will vary depending on the complexity of your particular need, but your Implant Surgeon will have detailed all of this in your treatment plan.

  • Implant Placed Once the implant(s) are placed it may be necessary it might be necessary to allow time for healing before attaching the replacement teeth. Once we are happy the implant has healed we will arrange a series of appointments to fabricate the replacement teeth.

  • Aftercare Your Implant Surgeon will advise you about looking after your implant and may well give you some painkillers to help with the pain over the days after your surgery as well as detailed advice about cleaning the implants and the teeth attached to them.
