Welcome to {my}dentist Coundon, we are an 8-surgery practice with 9 clinicians & 1 implantologist offering a variety of NHS, private and {my}options treatment plans as well as hygiene appointments with our 2 experienced hygienists. Located on Moseley Avenue in the Coundon area of Coventry. There is on-street parking available with 3 bays directly outside the practice and further parking on Steeplefield Road or Cramper’s Field. Some of our available treatments include Implants, Clear Aligner Orthodontic treatment, Teeth Whitening, Cosmetic Fillings and Hygiene appointments.     "On my arrival at the surgery, I found that care had been taken to ensure social distancing and the receptionists were behind protective screens. I went up to the waiting room, which was clean and tidy with seating at appropriate distances. Both my dentist, Raluca, and her assistant were well protected in the necessary PPE. My dentist carried out my check-up with care and understanding, and explaining what was good and what was needed to maintain my dental health. She was attentive to any questions I had. During the whole session I was made to feel at ease. I would have no hesitation in recommending this dentist or surgery that I have been attending now for over 30 yrs (and travelling some 20 miles on each visit)."

    Mariusz Daniel Zawada DDS,MSc,OMFS (Manchester) Mariusz graduated from the Pomeranian Medical University in 2002 with a degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery and has studied implant dentistry across the UK, Europe and Australia and earned his Master of Science degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the University of Manchester with distinction. Providing the most advanced dental care in a comfortable atmosphere is the priority of Mariusz. Along with cosmetic dentistry and facial aesthetics, implantology is one of his main professional interests. Mariusz regularly attends courses at a national and international level, which enable him to apply to the latest technologies and techniques. Mariusz is married with a young son and daughter. When not delivering great dentistry or spending the time with family he enjoys stargazing, riding his bike, snowboarding and paragliding.

    Dr Rakesh Patel graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2013. Since then he has worked in several practices in the West Midlands as both a locum and an associate. Dr Patel enjoys dentistry because every day is varied and this makes everyday day interesting. Different patients present different challenges, both interpersonally and practically. Anyone who has been a patient of Rakesh’s knows that he loves music, especially classic rock; the surgery is far too quiet without it in his opinion! In his spare time he enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to music and also travelling abroad.

    Dr Cieslak finished her Dental Degree in Slaska Academia Medyczna in Poland. After registration in the General Dental Council in 2004 she joined our Moseley Avenue surgery. Over the last decade she has been performing general dentistry in Coventry. She feels that providing a service for a growing population of patients in this area would not be possible without our dedicated and friendly staff. Our surgery performs innovative dental treatments based on the latest materials and access to new diagnostic tools. The support from the company is constantly encouraging. In her spare time she enjoys walking in the countryside. She also enjoys the cultural variety provided by Coventry 2021 city of culture.

    Dr Neringa Petruliene qualified as a General Dental Practitioner in Kaunas University of Medicine in 1999, Lithuania. She worked in private and outpatient practices in Lithuania. Dr Petruliene joined our company in 2009. She is interested in facial aesthetics and is looking at attending a course in this area in the future. In her spare time she spends lots of quality time with her family. She enjoys dentistry because every day is a new challenge, she enjoys the varied patients she sees on a daily basis and meeting their needs and seeing them happy with their results no matter what this may be, whether they are nervous or whether they have had a large amount of treatment.

    Dr Paul Plaha qualified from The Royal London Dental Hospital in 2002. He returned to Sutton Coldfield to complete his Vocational Training. He joined Coundon Dental practice in August 2003 & has established a large list of NHS & private patients. He also has a number of families where he cares for 5 generations. He gained his Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners in 2004. Dr Plaha’s main area of interest is minimally invasive dentistry which encapsulates simple orthodontics (Inman aligner & clear aligners), tooth whitening & composite bonding. He also has a passion for treating nervous patients & watching their confidence and smiles improve. In his spare time he likes to travel and spend time with his family.
  • Dr.Raluca Terzi Qualified from: DMD Bucharest,Romania, 2008 GDC No: 226539
    Dr Raluca Terzi qualified in 2008 as a Doctor of Dental Medicine from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy Romania. She started her dental career in Bucharest as a private dentist. She moved to the UK in 2012 where she first worked as a Cosmetic Dentist at Maya Cosmetic Surgery in Birmingham. In 2013 she joined one of our other practices in Gloucester practice and later on the Coundon practice in 2015. Raluca has an interest in cosmetic dentistry, she is a certified provider of Sendoline and Invisalign Go. She found her work very rewarding as a dentist offering gentle and sympathetic approach to her patients ensuring they all have a great patient journey. In her spare time Raluca enjoys travelling and spending time with her family and friends.
  • Dr.Rupinder Gakhal Qualified from: BDS Lond,United Kingdom, 1998 GDC No: 75114
    Dr Rupinder Gakhal is a general dentist who enjoys helping people smile with confidence. She qualified from Kings College in 1998 with a distinction in restorative dentistry. Dr Gakhals vocational training was completed in Surrey and since then she has worked in Reading (a new busy NHS practice), Hockley and Coventry. This has enabled her to gain a broad range of experience, she has also completed a course in aesthetic dentistry with Dr James Russell. Her special interests include restorative dentistry and Valplast ( flexible) dentures. Dr Gakhal enjoys working with anxious patients giving them confidence in dental treatment. In her spare time she likes to travel and spend time with her family.
  • Dr.Shruti Seth Qualified from: BDS Baba Farid, 2007 GDC No: 204756
    Dr Shruti Seth qualified from India in 2007 and completed her statutory exam (Overseas registration exam) in 2010. She has been working with our company since 2012. Dr Seth enjoys different aspects of dentistry, but most of all she likes how varied it is and the different people she gets to meet along the way. She is interested in facial aesthetics and may look into this in the future as an option alongside general dentistry. Apart from dentistry, she is a busy mum of 2 young children and she loves spending time with them. In her spare time she likes reading books and listening to music.

What are dental implants?
Dental implants are a fixed solution for missing teeth that are the closest possible replacement for natural teeth. They involve one or more titanium screws being inserted into your jawbone to mimic a natural tooth root. Dental crowns are securely attached to these to fill the gaps in your mouth.   • Consultation Your initial consultation will be with either our Implant Surgeon or Treatment Coordinator (TCO), who can discuss the different types of implants, single or multiple depending on your need. Following this there may be a need for a more clinical focused consultation.

  • Diagnostic Scans We will carry out a number of digital scans, to build a digital 3D model of your mouth so we can get a clear picture of the area we will place the implant, and a more detailed X-ray using a Cone Beam Computer Tomography scanner so that our Implant surgeon can assess the state of the bone below the gum to get a really clear picture of your treatment need.

  • Treatment Plan Once our experienced implant surgeon has assessed all of you scans they will explain the nature of your treatment, the stages involved and costs. We offer flexible payment options to make implants even more affordable.

  • Commence Treatment Once you are happy we will begin treatment. The length and numbers of appointments will vary depending on the complexity of your particular need, but your Implant Surgeon will have detailed all of this in your treatment plan.

  • Implant Placed Once the implant(s) are placed it may be necessary it might be necessary to allow time for healing before attaching the replacement teeth. Once we are happy the implant has healed we will arrange a series of appointments to fabricate the replacement teeth.

  • Aftercare Your Implant Surgeon will advise you about looking after your implant and may well give you some painkillers to help with the pain over the days after your surgery as well as detailed advice about cleaning the implants and the teeth attached to them.
