Dr Pedro Matos Rito graduated in 2003 from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Coimbra in Portugal, where he trained in both general medicine and dentistry. This has given him a particular interest in oral medicine, caring for patients with complex medical histories and understanding the close connection between oral and general health. Committed to ongoing professional development, Pedro has completed Level 2 oral surgery training in the UK and regularly updates his clinical skills. He takes a preventative, evidence-based approach to care, following national guidance and providing practical, tailored advice to help patients maintain good oral health over the long term. Pedro believes dental care should be a partnership between clinician and patient. He takes the time to listen carefully, explain treatment options clearly and ensure patients feel informed and comfortable throughout their treatment. Patients who feel anxious often appreciate his calm and reassuring approach. Pedro speaks fluent Portuguese and Spanish and is happy to provide consultations in either language. Outside of the practice, he is a keen football fan.
