Dental implants - A permanent solution to missing teeth

Struggling to eat your favourite foods or feeling self-conscious about your smile due to missing, broken, or loose teeth? Dental implants could be the solution for you.

Why dental implants?

A long-lasting solution for any number of missing teeth, dental implants are the closest replacement for natural teeth and a hugely popular option for those with missing or broken teeth.

The benefits of dental implants

Dental implants offer several benefits to those looking to replace missing teeth, including:

Improved smile - and confidence

Dental implants are designed to look as natural as possible, allowing you to eat, speak, and smile with confidence.

Functioning and feeling like natural teeth

Dental implants function and feel like real teeth, providing a close replacement that feels totally natural.

Maintaining jawbone structure

Dental implants are anchored directly into the jawbone, minimising any bone loss and the effect it can have on the shape of your face.

Long-term solution

Dental implants are a proven, long-term solution for missing teeth, with a high success rate and a low risk of complications.

Replacing loose-fitting dentures

Dental implants can replace loose-fitting dentures for a secure and stable solution.

Types of dental implants

There are several types of dental implants that may be used depending on your needs, including:

Single dental implant

The simplest type of implant, a single dental implant is used to replace one missing tooth. As with other types of implants, a titanium screw is inserted into the jaw and a false tooth is attached to it, offering a natural look and full use.

Multiple dental implants

Multiple dental implants are a perfect solution if you have two or more missing teeth. They work exactly the same as single dental implants and are almost as easy to fit.

Dental implant bridge

A dental implant bridge uses multiple implants to hold three or more teeth in place, forming a permanent dental bridge.

Dental implant dentures

Dental implant retained dentures use the implants to hold dentures in place, improving chewing and speaking and providing a more secure and stable solution for those who don’t like the idea of having dentures alone.

Smile in a Day

Using advanced techniques, we can now offer you your smile back in a day by providing you with fixed teeth using dental implants, a treatment that until recently could take a year or more to complete. Our Smile in a Day treatment (also referred as Same Day Implants) is ideal for people who have loose or failing teeth, no teeth or are currently wearing ill-fitting dentures. This technique uses four or six dental implants, placed in your jaw, onto which we secure a full set of natural-looking teeth. Now, more people can have a new fixed set of teeth in a day.

Dental implant FAQs

How do dental implants work?

When fitting dental implants, dentists insert titanium screws into the jawbone to replace a missing natural tooth root, and then securely attach crowns (also known as tooth caps) to fill gaps in your mouth. Since dental implants are anchored in the jaw - just like natural teeth, you will need to look after them in the same way.

How long does dental implant treatment take?

The length of treatment depends on the type of implant, the health of your mouth, gums, bones, and other factors. However, our experienced implant surgeons will provide a detailed treatment plan to give you an idea of how long the process will take for you, and our practice teams will also stay in touch to keep you up to date.

How much do dental implants cost?

Dental implant cost will depend on the type of implant you need as well as your current mouth health. However, at mydentist, we strongly believe that everyone should be able to access high-quality, effective dentistry, which is why we offer a range of payment solutions to suit different budgets.
