Dental bridges FAQs

How long does getting a dental bridge take?

Our dental team will guide you through the process of getting a dental bridge, which typically involves the following steps:

  • Assessment: initially, we'll assess your teeth to determine if you are suitable for a dental bridge. If a bridge isn’t right for you, our dental team will work closely with you to find a more suitable solution.
  • Tooth Preparation: depending on the design of the bridge a certain amount of tooth preparation will be required. Local anaesthetic is used when completing treatment on your teeth to keep the procedure as comfortable as possible.
  • Scans or Impressions: a scan or an impression of your teeth will be taken and sent to laboratory for them to fabricate your custom-made dental bridge.
  • Temporary bridge: while the laboratory is making your custom bridge, we'll fit you with a temporary bridge or crowns to protect the prepared teeth and keep you smiling.
  • Permanent bridge: finally, we'll fit your permanent bridge and secure it, giving you a brand-new smile that you can be proud of.

Do dental bridges hurt?

Local anaesthetic is used for the preparation and fitting of dental bridges and it should feel no different to having a filling.

Are dental bridges safe?

Dental bridges are considered safe and should have no negative effects on your health or well-being.
