Dr Ijaz Hussain qualified as a dentist in 1996 after completing his studies at the University of Peshawar in Pakistan. He spent six years working in general practice before moving to the UK to further develop his clinical skills and experience. During this time, he held Senior House Officer posts across several NHS hospital trusts and achieved his MFDS (RCPS) qualification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2005.
In 2009, Ijaz passed the ORE examination and completed his Dental Foundation Training the following year. He now works in general practice with a special interest in endodontics, having completed a Master’s degree in Endodontology at the University of Chester in 2017. This advanced training has strengthened his expertise in delivering high‑quality root canal treatments. Alongside his practice work, Ijaz is part of the Endodontology Department at Manchester Dental Hospital, where he manages complex endodontic cases as a Specialty Dentist. He also accepts referrals within the practice and is frequently consulted by colleagues for advice on challenging cases. In addition, he works as a Clinical Teacher in Endodontics at the University of Manchester, supervising qualified dentists undertaking specialist training.
