About Buckshaw Village Dental Practice

Welcome to {my}dentist Buckshaw Village Dental Practice. We are a 5-surgery practice providing a variety of NHS, private and affordable private treatment plans. We now also offer Denplan Essentials, allowing patients to pay monthly. Treatments we offer include implants, teeth whitening, composite bonding and teeth straightening through clear braces such as ClearCorrect (similar to Invisalign). Our practice is an 8-minute walk from Main Street bus stop and a 9-minute walk from Buckshaw Parkway train station, with parking available. If you have any questions or would like to book in for a consultation the team would love to hear from you. We welcome all patients to our practice and ensure all individuals are treated with the utmost care and attention from our highly skilled staff. We look forward to seeing you soon.

  • Dr.Michelle Wooi Qualified from: BDS Newcastle, United Kingdom, 2016 GDC No: 264932
    Michelle qualified from Newcastle University in 2016 and did her foundation training in North Wales, before furthering her postgraduate experience in Liverpool Dental Hospital and Bristol Dental Hospital for 3 years. This gave her exposure across various dental specialities, including training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. She is accredited with SAAD to provide treatment under conscious sedation, suitable for patients who are anxious about dental treatment. She is also trained to provide non-surgical facial aesthetic treatments including anti-wrinkle toxins and lip enhancement fillers, and her knowledge of the facial anatomy allows her to help patients achieve the desired outcome whilst making safety the top priority. She joined {my}dentist in September 2020 and looks forward to restoring the dental health of our lovely patients. Watch this space, as she will also be looking to develop her interest in smile makeover. Her ethos is there is more than teeth to a beautiful smile!
  • Dr.Sadegh Ansari Qualified from: BDS University of Liverpool 2010 United Kingdom, 2010 GDC No: 191453
    Sadegh graduated from Liverpool University in 2010 after studying dentistry . He joined us here in Buckshaw village dental practice in 2017. He has many qualifications, which he uses to help you love your smile. He sees both NHS and private patients. He offers a mixture of treatments including teeth straightening (clear braces), whitening, veneers and many others to improve your smile. He also undertakes preventative, reparative and cosmetic procedures, helping his patients to feel more confident with their smile. Sadegh has Saturday appointments available for his patients.When he is not working he enjoys spending time with his children, seeing the outdoors and watching football.
  • Miss.Claire Sophie Todd Qualified from: BDS University of Liverpool 2014 UK, 2014 GDC No: 251142
    Claire qualified at the University of Liverpool in 2014 and then carried out further post-graduate training and passed the MFDS exams for the Royal College of Surgeons, Glasgow in 2016. Since graduating, Claire has worked in mixed NHS / Private practice in the North West, and has been at Buckshaw Village since 2019. Claire is always looking to improve her existing skills and knowledge and has attended additional post-graduate courses. She completed the Inman Aligner and ClearSmile Certification Courses, she has had experience treating cases with short- term orthodontics (teeth straightening). One of her cases was selected for publication in The Dentist Magazine in September 2016. Claire also has vast experience in non-surgical facial aesthetics. Claire is extremely passionate about facial aesthetics and loves being able to create more confidence in her patients. Claire believes her strongest qualities are her warm and caring approach and her ability to earn patients' trust and confidence. This has been key to forging lasting rapports, particularly with children and anxious patients. In her spare time Claire enjoys spending time with her family, friends and dog.

    Delna graduated from Liverpool Dental School in 2020 and completed her Foundation training at Ringway Dental and Ashton Community Dental. Delna joined the {my}dentist team in 2021 where she worked at our New Brighton practice for 1 year. She moved to {my}dentist Buckshaw Village in October 2022 where she treats a mixture of NHS and private patients. Delna prides herself on spending time with each of her patients explaining their dental needs. She is a warm and friendly dentist who is great at dealing with nervous and anxious patients. Outside of dentisty Delna a keen amateur cook and loves to try out new cuisines. She has a love of animals in particular her cat Jimmy. She enjoys spending time with her family and going for walks.
  • Miss.Elizabeth Marie Berry Qualified from: BDS Newcastle University 2011 UK, 2011 GDC No: 210419
    Elizabeth graduated from Newcastle University Dental school in 2011. She is originally from Southport and worked in various practices completing both NHS and private treatments until 2022. In 2022 Lizzie joined {my}dentist Buckshaw Village as a fully private clinician, offering {my}dentist affordable private scheme and {my}dentist plan to her patients. Lizzie has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry, providing patients with new and improved smiles. She offers a range of cosmetic dentistry including clear braces through ClearCorrect, composite bonding and whitening. Outside of dentistry Lizzie also practices IV infusions for general well-being and facial aesthetics. Lizzie is hoping to make facial aesthetics available to her {my}dentist patients in the near future. In her spare time Lizzie’s hobbies include CrossFit, hiking and travelling.
  • Miss.Greta Petrasiunaite (Therapist) Qualified from: Registered under s36C of the Dentists Act 1984 2019 Lithuania, 2019 GDC No: 281700
    Greta graduated in 2015 at the University of Applied Sciences, Lithuania. While studying Greta was working as a dental nurse in private practices with specialists in Endodontics, Prosthetics, Cosmetic dentistry and Periodontology. After graduation she worked on a side of special interest in Periodontology providing non-surgical gum disease treatments, gum disease maintenance, airflow treatments and teeth whitening. Greta worked at multiple NHS and Private Dentistry practices in London as a hygienist before moving to Lancashire and joining {my}dentist Chorley as a hygienist. She enjoys periodontology and treating gum disease, expanding her knowledge in various workshops and courses. She praises the importance of patients understanding about healthy gums and gum disease, providing clear personal oral hygiene instructions.
  • Mrs.Clare Davison Qualified from: Bachelors degree in dental surgery UK, 2007 GDC No: 112810
    Dr Clare Davison graduated from Bristol University in 2007 with a Bachelors degree in dental surgery . Following this training she worked for 8 years as an associate dentist and then joined the team at Buckshaw Village dental practice under {my}dentist in 2020. She has completed the Royal College of Surgeons diploma (MJDF RCS Eng.), the advanced course on aesthetic dentistry provided by Tipton training and more recently a masters level certificate in Restorative dentistry through Tipton training. Furthermore, Clare has completed a Facilitating Learning in Healthcare course at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) and has been an educational supervisor mentoring new dental graduates for the last 5 years. Clare does a mixture of NHS and private treatments and her passion is dentures. When she is not working, learning or attending courses, Clare enjoys ice skating, dancing, singing, cooking, painting, swimming and spending time with her family.
  • Mrs.Samina Price Qualified from: BDS University of Liverpool 1992 UK, 1992 GDC No: 67803
    Samina graduated from Liverpool Dental School In July 1992. Since then she has gained a vast amount of experience in many types of dentistry. Her main areas of interest are preventative care and she enjoys taking nervous patients through their dental health journey. She has worked within the NHS and as a community dentist, treating unregistered patients in pain, and special care patients. She has worked in general practice and has run her own dental practice. Samina is now enjoying providing both NHS and private care here at {my}dentist Buckshaw Village, including ClearCorrect teeth straightening using clear aligners. Outside of work Samina is a keen crafter, making most of her own clothes. She also loves spending time with her grandchildren.

What are dental implants?
Dental implants are a fixed solution for missing teeth that are the closest possible replacement for natural teeth. They involve one or more titanium screws being inserted into your jawbone to mimic a natural tooth root. Dental crowns are securely attached to these to fill the gaps in your mouth. Because dental implants are securely anchored in your jaw you’ll have the confidence to comfortably eat whatever you like.

  • Consultation Your initial consultation will be with either our Implant Surgeon or Treatment Coordinator (TCO), who can discuss the different types of implants, single or multiple depending on your need. Following this there may be a need for a more clinical focused consultation.

  • Diagnostic Scans We will carry out a number of digital scans, to build a digital 3D model of your mouth so we can get a clear picture of the area we will place the implant, and a more detailed X-ray using a Cone Beam Computer Tomography scanner so that our Implant surgeon can assess the state of the bone below the gum to get a really clear picture of your treatment need.

  • Treatment Plan Once our experienced implant surgeon has assessed all of you scans they will explain the nature of your treatment, the stages involved and costs. We offer flexible payment options to make implants even more affordable.

  • Commence Treatment Once you are happy we will begin treatment. The length and numbers of appointments will vary depending on the complexity of your particular need, but your Implant Surgeon will have detailed all of this in your treatment plan.

  • Implant Placed Once the implant(s) are placed it may be necessary it might be necessary to allow time for healing before attaching the replacement teeth. Once we are happy the implant has healed we will arrange a series of appointments to fabricate the replacement teeth.

  • Aftercare Your Implant Surgeon will advise you about looking after your implant and may well give you some painkillers to help with the pain over the days after your surgery as well as detailed advice about cleaning the implants and the teeth attached to them.
