About mydentist, Bedford Street, Leigh

Welcome to {my}dentist Bedford Street, Leigh. Our 13 clinicians cover a variety of NHS, private and {my}options treatment plans including teeth straightening, dentures, composite bonding and inhouse and take-home teeth whitening (with a choice of Phillips Zoom or Enlighten), as well as hygiene appointments with our very own Hygienist Miss Charlotte Bond. We are now providing Invisalign, ClearCorrect and Six-Month Smiles, a short-term orthodontic treatment. In our team we have Mrs Gemma Buffey who has previously won Dental Therapist of the Year. If you have any questions or would like to book in for a consultation the team would love to hear from you. You can also find out more practice information on our Facebook and Instagram pages.     "Had a checkup with Yasir the dentist today and it was fabulous, he was really nice and put me right at ease. I hadn't been to the dentist for a while because of no on taking on patients and I was worried my mouth health had suffered. He efficiently performed my exam, making me feel comfortable and explaining what he was doing throughout - really impressed! The surgery was incredibly clean and covid secure and the receptionist lovely and smiley. Very happy client!"

  • Dr.Cristian Baltaretu Qualified from: DMD Bucharest,Romania, 2000 GDC No: 170935
    Dr Cristian Baltaretu graduated from Dental University Bucharest, Romania in 2000. He worked in private practice in Bucharest for 7 years before joining {my}dentist at Bedford Street in Leigh in 2009. Cristian offers a wide range of both NHS and private treatment options. He has a special interest in aesthetic dentistry, including private dentures as well as private direct and indirect restorations. Cristian is very keen to develop his skills even further and has completed additional training in dentures, white composite restorations, and crown work. Cristian continues to keep up to date with new technology and materials by attending regular courses which enables him to treat his patients to the highest possible standard and giving them a comfortable experience on their visit and keeping them as relaxed as possible. In his spare time, Cristian enjoys playing badminton, cycling and travelling also likes to spend time with his family.
  • Dr.Dominic Cosmin Stanescu Qualified from: DMD Napoca,Romania, 2002 GDC No: 121772
    Dominic graduated from the Dental University of Cluj-Napoca (Romania) in 2002; he continued studying and working at the University for 3 years, specialising in General Dentistry, after which he worked in a high-end private dental practice in Bucharest for 3 years. In 2008, Dominic moved to the UK and has been working at {my}dentist Bedford Street dental surgery Leigh ever since. He is experienced in all aspects of general dentistry, focusing on delivering pain-free treatment and making patients feel comfortable. Dominic has a special interest in aesthetic dentistry, whitening treatments, veneers, crowns, dentures and enjoys providing both NHS care and private treatments.
  • Dr.Mani Dixit Qualified from: LDS RCS Eng england, 2015 GDC No: 256176
    Mani completed her undergraduate dental training in India; she then moved to the UK and obtained her LDS from the Royal College of Surgeons in London as well as MFDS from the Royal College of Surgeons in Glasgow. She successfully completed her vocational training year, where her mild and gentle nature made her popular with patients and staff alike. In the year that followed she took a special interest in the cosmetic and restorative side of dentistry. This has seen her develop her skills in Denture Excellence, Crowns and Veneers, as well as Tooth whitening and modern orthodontic braces, such as Invisalign. She has an interest in all fields of dentistry and new innovations, regularly attending courses to ensure she is providing the best possible care for her patients.
  • Dr.Marius Catalin Vaida Qualified from: DMD Bucharest,Romania, 2004 GDC No: 126194
    Marius graduated from Bucharest Dental University in 2004. After 3 and a half years spent in general practice in Romania he moved to the UK in 2008 and has been working at {my}dentist Bedford Street dental surgery in Leigh ever since. Marius gradually developed an interest and passion in endodontics (root canal treatments). In 2016 he has completed a postgraduate certificate in endodontology at the University of Chester and he plans to continue developing this further. Marius is a member of the British Endodontic Society and the European Society of Endodontology and he now offers private endodontic treatments to our patients.
  • DR.Saimah Raja Qualified from: BDS Manc 2015 UK, 2015 GDC No: 258635
    Saimah qualified from the University of Manchester in 2015,and completed her foundation year in Darwen.She has recently passed her MJDF examination with the Royal collage of surgeons, London and has then taken up a associate post with {my}dentist.She has since trained and become certified in Invisalign Braces and Denture Excellence. Saimah enjoys all aspects in dentistry, and is keen on attending courses and conferences to further her knowledge in order to help provide the best possible care for her patients. She has a keen interest in general restorative dentistry and short term orthodontics.She has also completed some voluntary work in south east Asia, providing dental treatment to the under privileged in Vietnam and Cambodia.
  • Ms.Noor-Ul-Saba Farhan Qualified from: BDS in Dental Surgery 2013 and BDS Uni of Health Sciences Lahore 2014 Pakistan , 2013 GDC No: 267695
    Noor graduated from Pakistan in 2013 and moved to the UK soon after. She did her ORE (exam) through the Royal College of Surgeons (England). Noor has found a wonderful team to work with at {my}dentist, Leigh and provides NHS and Private treatment. She's taken courses for Enlighten whitening, Composite Bonding, Clear Correct (Aligners for straightening teeth), and Rotary Endodontics, to name a few. Noor is always eager to move forward in her career and to help provide the dental care her patients need, in the best way she can. She wants to excel in Aesthetic dentistry and short term Orthodontics. Noor is interested in Implants and considers branching out in the field, in the future. The days Noor isn't working, she enjoys spending time with her, friends and family. She enjoys reading and anything that promotes a positive mind-set always catches her eye.

What are dental implants?
Dental implants are a fixed solution for missing teeth that are the closest possible replacement for natural teeth. They involve one or more titanium screws being inserted into your jawbone to mimic a natural tooth root. Dental crowns are securely attached to these to fill the gaps in your mouth. Because dental implants are securely anchored in your jaw you’ll have the confidence to comfortably eat whatever you like.

  • Consultation Your initial consultation will be with either our Implant Surgeon or Treatment Coordinator (TCO), who can discuss the different types of implants, single or multiple depending on your need. Following this there may be a need for a more clinical focused consultation.

  • Diagnostic Scans We will carry out a number of digital scans, to build a digital 3D model of your mouth so we can get a clear picture of the area we will place the implant, and a more detailed X-ray using a Cone Beam Computer Tomography scanner so that our Implant surgeon can assess the state of the bone below the gum to get a really clear picture of your treatment need.

  • Treatment Plan Once our experienced implant surgeon has assessed all of you scans they will explain the nature of your treatment, the stages involved and costs. We offer flexible payment options to make implants even more affordable.

  • Commence Treatment Once you are happy we will begin treatment. The length and numbers of appointments will vary depending on the complexity of your particular need, but your Implant Surgeon will have detailed all of this in your treatment plan.

  • Implant Placed Once the implant(s) are placed it may be necessary it might be necessary to allow time for healing before attaching the replacement teeth. Once we are happy the implant has healed we will arrange a series of appointments to fabricate the replacement teeth.

  • Aftercare Your Implant Surgeon will advise you about looking after your implant and may well give you some painkillers to help with the pain over the days after your surgery as well as detailed advice about cleaning the implants and the teeth attached to them.
