"The entirety of my experience with Chapel Road Orthondontics has been fantastic. The staff have always been incredibly open and friendly; there to answer any queries I have had and have always taken a genuine interest in my progress. Having orthodontic treatment was the best decision I ever made. Admittedly I was nervous and there were times that I got frustrated with having braces, but that is nothing compared to the confidence and happiness I now have about my smile. I would thoroughly recommend orthodontic treatment to anyone who may be unsure, and Chapel Road Orthodontics is definitely the place to have it done. Thank you for a lovely experience that has left me with a lovely smile."

Ortho Options - For a confident smile
Under 18's braces

It’s common for orthodontic treatment to begin in the teenage years, once all or most of the permanent teeth have come through. At that point it becomes clear whether someone might have dental concerns such as significant crowding, an over or underbite, or difficulty biting the teeth together which might affect eating or properly cleaning the teeth.

In cases where these issues are significant, braces will be available on the NHS. They assess who will receive braces according to a scoring system called the Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need, or IOTN score.

Some teens may not meet the IOTN score, in which case the NHS treatment is not available, or the waiting list in their area may be very long meaning they are unable to start treatment quickly. That is why we have a range of affordable private orthodontic treatments available for teenagers.

Orthodontic treatments for teens

With our Ortho Options, we can provide a huge choice in private orthodontic treatment for teenagers, suitable for a wide range of budgets.

To see if it’s right for you or your teenager, you’ll first have an assessment with one of our team who will explain the different treatments, what is involved and our finance options*. There are no long waiting lists, so if you are keen to go ahead we can book an appointment to see an orthodontist without delay and begin the treatment journey.

  • Metal
    fixed braces

Metal fixed appliances consist of small metal brackets attached to the teeth with a wire tied into the brackets. The wires are then used to move the teeth into the desired position giving the orthodontist control over the tooth movements. The ties can be coloured giving you the option to customise the brace.

  • Clear

Clear aligners offer a virtually invisible way to straighten teeth using a series of clear, customised removable aligners that fit snugly over your teeth. Advanced technology allows you to visualise your completed treatment. This is a great option for those wanting a more discreet, wire free treatment.

Why choose Ortho Options

  • 1.Teeth straightening treatment provided for under 18s that don’t qualify for NHS treatment
  • 2.Assessment with a treatment co-ordinator who’ll explain how it works
  • 3.If you do decide to proceed with treatment, another appointment will be arranged with the orthodontist, so we can take pre-treatment records, which include models of your teeth, x-rays and photographs for a more detailed assessment and a final treatment plan. Range of treatments available to suit all budgets, from traditional fixed metal braces to invisible, removable aligners
  • 4.No long waiting list
  • 5.Interest free finance* available
