About mydentist, Wells Road, Bristol

Welcome to {my}dentist Wells Road, a 15-surgery practice located in the Broadwalk shopping centre in the Knowle area of Bristol. Our range of specialist Clinicians include a Dental Implant Surgeon and an Orthodontist allowing us to not only offer NHS general dentistry but also an extensive range of private treatments and our {my}options affordable private scheme for those needing flexible appointments without the private price tag. Our practice also provides a range of Dental Care plans to spread the cost of routine dental care into monthly increments. Some of our private treatments include ClearCorrect and Invisalign teeth straightening, Implants, Teeth Whitening, Facial Aesthetics and Hygiene appointments. If you have any questions or would like to book in for a consultation the team would love to hear from you. We are also open on Sundays to offer private emergency appointments and private treatment to suit your schedule. We look forward to welcoming you into our practice soon!

  • Dr..Reema Aggarwal Qualified from: Statutory exam Baglahor, 1995 GDC No: 84561
    Dr. Reema Aggarwal gained a national scholarship to practice medicine and dentistry and graduated in dentistry from Bangalore University, India in 1995. Since moving to the UK in 2003, she has devoted most of her spare time to postgraduate study, both in the UK and the USA. She trained under Dr. Steve Buchanan in the “Art of Endodontics” program. She gained the MJDF from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2009 and a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2013. She was awarded a Gold Medal for “Excellence in Restorative Dentistry” by the Royal College of Surgeons, England. Subsequently she completed an MSc in Restorative Dentistry from Leeds University in 2016. Reema has focused on Restorative Dentistry in recent years, working exclusively in this field of dentistry since 2013. Reema moved to the Bristol area in 2021 and has been part of the {my}dentist Wells Road team since April 2022. Reema also works in our Filton Road Practice. She accepts referrals for composite bonding, occlusal rehabilitation and reorganisation, complex dentures, smile makeovers, and gingivoplasty, whilst always endeavouring to use Minimum Invasive Dentistry in her treatment plans.
  • Dr.Diana Pana Qualified from: DMD-Cluj-Napoca 2013 Cluj-Napoca, 2003 GDC No: 175691
    Diana graduated from Medical University with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD) in 2003. She has furthered her knowledge of various aspects of restorative and aesthetic dentistry by completing a two-year postgraduates diploma program at Dominic Hassall Training Institute Birmingham. In addition to widen her portfolio of treatments Diana has developed a special interest in Anterior Alignment Orthodontics. She has completed various advanced and prestigious courses and she is now an insured and experienced practitioner of AAO (6 Month Smiles, Clear Smile Braces, Inman Aligner and Clear Correct). Since her passion is orthodontics, Diana underwent an Advance Orthodontic Course at IAS Academy with Professor Ross Hobson. Therefore, she can provide patients with comprehensive straightening teeth, for adults and children. Diana is committed to providing you with the very best professional and personalised service to ensure a complete understanding of your requirements.
  • Dr.Eric Yew Jun Ng Qualified from: BDS University of Dundee 2019 Scotland, 2019 GDC No: 283804
    Eric graduated from the University of Dundee, Scotland in 2019 and went on to carry out his Dental Foundation Training in Norwich, England the following year. He joined {my}dentist Wells Road in October 2020 as a general dental practitioner, where he has become an integral member of the team. Since graduating, he has further developed his skills by attending several post graduate courses in order to be better able to provide patients with the best care. Eric has a keen interest particularly in cosmetic dentistry such as teeth whitening, and teeth straightening and offers ClearCorrect clear aligners in the practice. Outside of the dental practice, Eric enjoys playing competitive badminton and loves to travel.
  • Dr.Jacob Taekke (Dental Implant Surgeon) Qualified from: BDS Denmark, 2001 GDC No: 82641
    Jacob was born in Denmark and trained there to be a dental surgeon. After graduation in 2001 Jacob worked in Denmark until the call of adventure tempted him to move and practice abroad. Jacob has lived and worked in the South West of England since 2003. In this time Jacob has treated thousands of patients within general dentistry but since 2008 he has dedicated his time to the exciting field of dental implantology. Jacob works for {my}dentist covering the South West meeting the rising demand for quality dental implant treatment.
  • Dr.Kalliopi Koutra Qualified from: s16(2A) Dentists Act 1984 United Kingdom, 2005 GDC No: 100226
    Kalliopi, known as Popi, trained and qualified as a dentist in Plovdiv, Bulgaria in 2000. She then returned to her native Athens, Greece, establishing herself in general practice by working in two dental practices there. Popi moved to the U.K. in 2005 and started working at what eventually became {my}dentist Bristol Wells Road in November of that year. Popi is a well-established member of our team and sees generations of patients from the same families! In her spare time, when she is not spending time with her young daughter, Popi is an avid runner and loves to spend time running routes all around Bristol.
  • Dr.Maria Dizon Qualified from: TBC Philippines, 1988 GDC No: 81821
    Maria studied and qualified as a dentist in Quezon city, Philippines. She then moved to Spain, where she continued practising dentistry before finally settling in Bristol in November 2003. She has been at Wells Road Dental Centre since 2004, where she is a well-established member of the team. Since qualifying, Maria has completed various post-graduate studies such as a BUOLD course in Prosthetic Dentistry and POS (Progressive Orthodontic Seminars.) She has a keen interest in the field of cosmetic dentistry and enjoys doing composite veneers to improve patients’ smiles. Outside of the dental surgery, Maria has a passion for food and loves to cook delicious food that is influenced by her background and travels. Her creativeness doesn’t stop at food, she often spends her spare time creating and making things such as soaps and lip balms and she also enjoys crocheting.
  • Dr.Mark Henstridge Qualified from: BDS Brist,United Kingdom, 1996 GDC No: 72647
    Mark qualified from Bristol in 1996 and following a year in St Ives, Cornwall, returned to Bristol and joined one of our sister practices in East Street, Bedminster. He has been working in the Wells Road Dental Centre since 2001. Since qualifying, Mark has done various post-graduate studies including a BUOLD course in communication at Bristol University. Mark has a special interest in the area of extractions and oral surgery and other dentists regularly refer patients to him for more complex cases. Mark lives in Bristol with his wife, four children and is an avid reader and gamer in his spare time.
  • Dr.Ming Ging Ong Qualified from: BDS Cardiff University 2019 Wales, 2019 GDC No: 284180
    Ming graduated from Cardiff University in 2019, and completed his dental foundation training in Swansea in the following year. He became an integral part of the dental team at {my}dentist Bristol, Wells Road in 2020. Effective communication and gaining a rapport with patients is really important to Ming. He strives to deliver long lasting dental treatment in a comfortable and caring manner, hoping patients will be at ease in the dental chair. He has a special clinical interest in Endodontics, restoring and maintaining oral health. Ming also provides ClearCorrect clear aligner treatment, whitening and bonding teeth for functional and aesthetic purposes.
  • Dr.Nevena Bogatsevska-Valkova Qualified from: DDM Sofia, Bulgaria, 2000 GDC No: 201593
    Nevena qualified in her native Bulgaria in 2000, running an independent practice in Sofia for 10 years before moving to the UK in 2011. Nevena has worked in our Wells Road practice since then. Since her qualification, Nevena has explored various areas of cosmetic dentistry, completing courses in ClearCorrect clear aligners, Smile Fast and facial aesthetics. Facial aesthetics is an area Nevena is passionate about, delivering tailored solutions to patients in a safe and skilled way. Nevena and our practice are Save Face accredited, meaning that patients can have confidence that they are being treated in a safe environment by someone that is insured and that has the appropriate qualifications and training. In her spare time, Nevena loves travelling with her family, reading and cooking.
  • Dr.Vasileios Mimos Qualified from: s16(2A) Dentists Act 1984 United Kingdom, 2005 GDC No: 84665
    Vas trained in Athens, Greece, qualifying in 2002. He went on to establish himself there, spending two years working in private practice. In 2004 he moved to the U.K. and starting work in Bristol at our sister practice in Monks Park. He has been with us in Wells Road since 2007. In 2004 he furthered his dental studies, undertaking post graduate courses in implant dentistry. Vas is a well-known, friendly member of the Wells Road dental team, enjoying a great rapport with all his patients. He is particularly interested in placing implants and correcting teeth alignment using ClearCorrect clear aligners.

Dental implants are a fixed solution for missing teeth that are the closest possible replacement for natural teeth. They involve one or more titanium screws being inserted into your jawbone to mimic a natural tooth root. Dental crowns are securely attached to these to fill the gaps in your mouth.   • Consultation Your initial consultation will be with either our Implant Surgeon or Treatment Coordinator (TCO), who can discuss the different types of implants, single or multiple depending on your need. Following this there may be a need for a more clinical focused consultation.

  • Diagnostic Scans We will carry out a number of digital scans, to build a digital 3D model of your mouth so we can get a clear picture of the area we will place the implant, and a more detailed X-ray using a Cone Beam Computer Tomography scanner so that our Implant surgeon can assess the state of the bone below the gum to get a really clear picture of your treatment need.

  • Treatment Plan Once our experienced implant surgeon has assessed all of you scans they will explain the nature of your treatment, the stages involved and costs. We offer flexible payment options to make implants even more affordable.

  • Commence Treatment Once you are happy we will begin treatment. The length and numbers of appointments will vary depending on the complexity of your particular need, but your Implant Surgeon will have detailed all of this in your treatment plan.

  • Implant Placed Once the implant(s) are placed it may be necessary it might be necessary to allow time for healing before attaching the replacement teeth. Once we are happy the implant has healed we will arrange a series of appointments to fabricate the replacement teeth.

  • Aftercare Your Implant Surgeon will advise you about looking after your implant and may well give you some painkillers to help with the pain over the days after your surgery as well as detailed advice about cleaning the implants and the teeth attached to them.
