Trevor joins European Board of Orthodontists
At mydentist we’re thrilled that one of our specialist orthodontists, Trevor Hodge of The Beverley Orthodontic Centre, has become one of only four British clinicians to achieve membership of the European Board of Orthodontists (EBO).
The EBO aims to enhance the standards of orthodontic treatment throughout Europe by providing a standard against which orthodontists can be judged independently of national examinations and barriers, by an expert panel of European orthodontists.
It aims to encourage the spirit of self-improvement among colleagues who are recognised specialists in orthodontics within countries in Europe.
Trevor took part in an extensive examination process to demonstrate his clinical excellence in complex orthodontic cases. He presented eight cases to a board of Europe’s top orthodontists, the majority of which were NHS cases completed at The Beverley Orthodontic Centre [LINK TO PRACTICE PAGE]. He is now only the fourth UK clinician in more than 20 years to gain EBO membership.
He said: “Although the examination was a professional challenge, requiring a lot of preparation, it is rewarding to be recognised for achievement in pursuit of clinical excellence.
“Of the 8 cases submitted, seven were treated on the NHS and of these six were at Beverley Orthodontic Centre where I am ably supported by an excellent team!”
Nyree Whitley, mydentist clinical director, added: “Only a handful of clinicians are permitted to join the EBO each year so we are very proud to see Trevor achieve his membership. It is a fantastic recognition of his clinical expertise and quality of care he gives to his patients.”
