£1.25m investment in air filtration across {my}dentist practices

Practice teams across {my}dentist have been working incredibly hard to make sure that the government's latest Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and our own chain of protective measures, are in place across all practices to ensure our patients and colleagues are protected and that we can treat more patients.

However, there is one overriding obstacle that is preventing more patients getting access to the care they need and our clinicians being able to return to their normal levels of productivity: that is the 60-minute fallow period that is currently required between aerosol-generating procedures.

That's why we are investing £1.25m to install state-of-the-art air filtration units in our practices right across the country, which will ensure our surgeries have at least 10 air changes per hour.

Current government guidance is clear that where at least 10 air changes per hour can be evidenced, the fallow period can be reduced, which means, as soon as these units are installed, we will be able to drop the fallow period to just 20 minutes in those surgeries.

1,200 of these units are available immediately and should begin arriving at practices within the next two weeks.
