We’re beyond excited to launch our Big Smiles blog with the world; it’s really important for us to share what’s going on in all aspects of mydentist – and boy do we have a lot to share! In a business which has over 10 million patients and over 7500 colleagues, there’s never a dull day or a minute of rest – and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
If you don’t know much about mydentist, let us give you a little insight into the UK’s largest dental provider …
Until recently, we were known as Integrated Dental Holdings (IDH) – which lacked the warm and inviting touch which we want all of our patients to experience from the moment they decide to book an appointment with us. It also lacked an identity, all of our practices had different looks, and there was no clear, consistent branding. When our chief operating officer, Annette Spindler, joined us last year, this was number one on her list of things to change… and just one year on, look at the difference!

Who is mydentist
Our brand was created after months of trials and focus groups with our patients – after all, it’s your brand and we wanted to put you at the forefront. Everything from the moment you decide you want an appointment and visit our website, to the colours and the scents of the practice, and even the choice of treatment options that you’re offered from your dentist, has all been created with you at the heart and soul.
With over 650 practices, it’s not going to be an overnight job – so there’s a chance that your local practice is still an IDH one, but rest assured it will be transformed into a warm and welcoming mydentist practice soon enough!
So, why have we decided to start a blog? Well, that’s simple – we want our patients, readers, clinicians and everybody else to feel a part of what we do. We’ll be posting everything from details of our national campaigns such as Kids’ Club and Zoom whitening, to heart-warming patient stories and we even have monthly guest blogs in store!
