Word’s cannot explain how excited we were to see some of the UK’s top dentists, orthodontists, dental nurses, hygienists and therapists gathered together at the brand new Vox Centre in Birmingham, for the first mydentist clinical conference. 

After months of planning, late nights and plenty of enthusiasm, day one of the conference arrived, and it was our first opportunity since the company has been branded for clinicians to get together to hear first-hand the mydentist vision for the future.

The event started off with a day of business presentations from CEO, Terry Scicluna, Chief Operating Officer Annette Spindler, Non-executive director and former Chief Dental Officer, Barry Cockcroft plus many more, including keynote speak Dr Jan Einfeldt.

Annette Spindler took the opportunity to discuss our mydentist brand, and how it lays the foundations for clinicians to deliver excellent patient care every day. She started off by saying: “I’ve been waiting for the opportunity to stand here and discuss what the mydentist brand means, and how it was created with our patients at the forefront. Without you, we don’t have a business; our dentists are at the heart of everything we do, so this weekend is really important for me.”

We really wanted to spread the message on the social stratosphere, and we got some fantastic feedback from our clinicians who were enjoying the day. One dentist from the South East region tweeted: “Having fun and chatting with colleagues at the Clinical Conference, it's great to feel so valued. #mydentistmyworkmypassion”

On the Friday night, mydentist hosted an extravagant black tie gala dinner, hosted by non-other than Gyles Brandreth. The night included a three course meal, live music – leading to lots of dancing, and a special awards ceremony celebrating clinical brilliance within mydentist. The winners were: 

Orthodontist of the year	Regional dentist of the year
Hygienist / therapist of the year	Dental nurse of the year
Special contribution award

Day two saw over 33 lecture sessions, which clinicians had already pre-registered for prior to the event. The sessions, which gained clinicians 5 hours of free CPD, included 6 month smiles, denture excellence, facial aesthetics with Dr Brian Franks and many more.

Overall, we don’t think the event could have been much more of a success. Not only did we get the opportunity to gather our clinicians and show them how much we value their dedicated efforts to look after our patients every day! But, we got the opportunity to share the mydentist brand with them and dig deeper into what mydentist is all about.
