mydentist strengthens clinician voice with new Clinical Advisory Board members
Oct 28, 2025, 00:00 AM
At mydentist, we’re committed to ensuring that every clinician, dental nurse and member of our clinical teams feels supported, valued and heard. That’s why we’re proud to welcome five new members to our Clinical Advisory Board, further strengthening the independent voice that helps shape how we support our teams across the UK.
Formed in 2023, the Clinical Advisory Board brings together practising clinicians, hygienists, therapists and nurses from across our network. Acting as an independent voice, the Board provides guidance on decisions that directly impact our clinical community – from development opportunities and mentoring to the delivery of the highest standards of patient care.
With five new appointments, the Board now includes eleven members representing a wide range of clinical backgrounds, career stages and regions. Together, they’ll continue to advise on key issues, including mydentist’s response to insights from the Great Place to Practise survey – a cornerstone of the organisation’s clinician feedback programme.
Chief Clinical Officer Dr Nyree Whitley commented: “We’re thrilled to welcome our new Clinical Advisory Board members – their wealth of experience and expertise will be a welcome addition, particularly as we continue to listen to our self-employed clinicians and employed dental nurses and incorporate their views into our long-term strategy to ensure that all clinical teams working or practising at mydentist feel supported and valued.
We believe that our new members will make a huge difference to our ability to continue to listen to clinicians and dental nurses, and act on their feedback. Our first meeting with our new members was fantastic and we’re already looking forward to acting on some of their initial suggestions.”
The Board meets twice a year, with discussions shaping everything from development and training opportunities to the clinical environment within practices. This collaboration is key to mydentist’s ambition to be the best place to practise dentistry in the UK.
Executive Chairman Tom Riall commented: “At mydentist, we strive to be the best place to practise dentistry in the UK, and the Clinical Advisory Board is integral to us realising this ambition. I’m delighted to welcome our five newest members and look forward to working alongside them over the coming months so that we can continue to listen, learn and ultimately provide the best environment for clinicians to thrive.”
Putting our People Values into practice
The Clinical Advisory Board is an important part of our commitment to building a clinically led and inclusive environment where everyone feels empowered to contribute to the future of dentistry. Through this group, we ensure that the voices of clinicians, dental nurses and wider clinical teams are represented at every level of decision-making. It’s one of the many ways we bring our People Values – We Respect Each Other, We Grow Together, We Achieve as One – to life across the organisation.
By listening to the insights and lived experiences of our teams, we can continue to shape a workplace where people feel supported, recognised and inspired to deliver the best possible care for patients. The Board’s growth reflects our long-term commitment to clinical collaboration, transparency and shared success.

Continuing members
We’re also proud to have several colleagues continuing their roles on the Clinical Advisory Board, bringing continuity, experience and insight to discussions on how we can further support our clinicians and clinical teams.

He now works across three specialist orthodontic practices – two of which he co-owns and one as an orthodontic associate at mydentist, Kelham Island.
Dr Steve Gaiger, GDP, mydentist Hessle: Steve qualified in 2007 and holds a diploma in endodontics, a teaching qualification, and a certificate in mentoring in dentistry. He has been an associate with mydentist in Hessle for around 17 years, where he currently works as a GDP. Dr Phil Dawson, Associate Dental Dean for Conduct & Performance at NHSE NW and Clinical Lead at the NW Dental Training Hub in Manchester: Phil has been qualified for over 30 years but retired from clinical activity in December 2025. She has since gone on to gain her Oral Health Education qualification, become Head Dental Nurse and then progressed to Treatment Co-ordinator alongside her dental nurse duties that she continues to do once a week. Last year, Natasha won Dental Nurse of the Year 2023. She has also written articles for mydentist and has been part of filming her journey and the importance of a nurse in the dental profession.
Michaela Hillaby, Qualified Dental Nurse, mydentist Skegness: Michaela joined mydentist Ida Road Skegness in 2015 as a student dental nurse and immediately knew dentistry was the career for her. Since qualifying, she has developed a keen interest in dental implants, attending Straumann and Neodent training courses to expand her knowledge. Michaela has also mentored student dental nurses and is a member of the area nurse colleague forum, representing her area and helping to support nurses in the best way she can.

He is a Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons and an Associate Fellow of the College of General Dentistry.
Looking to the future of mydentist
As the Clinical Advisory Board continues to evolve, its members will play an increasingly vital role in shaping how mydentist supports clinicians today and in the future.
Chief of Staff and General Counsel Stephen Roseby commented: “Our core values at mydentist are we grow together, we respect each other, and we achieve as one. These values are ubiquitous across the entire business, and our Clinical Advisory Board are an essential part of ensuring that clinicians, dental nurses and wider clinical teams feel supported and that they have room to thrive at mydentist.
After a successful launch of the Clinical Advisory Board in 2023, it’s exciting to see it evolve and grow, and I’m looking forward to hearing from our new members so that we can realise our goal of being the best place to practise dentistry in the UK.”
By championing collaboration, sharing insight and ensuring every voice is heard, the Board will help us continue to build a workplace defined by clinical excellence, inclusivity and respect — one where every clinician, nurse and therapist can thrive, grow and make a lasting difference to patient care.
Because at mydentist, we grow together, we respect each other, and we achieve as one — and our Clinical Advisory Board is proof of that in action.
