mydentist Cardiff set to open its doors this February

mydentist is preparing to open the doors to a brand‑new, large‑scale dental practice at City Link Retail Park on Newport Road this February, bringing together three existing Cardiff practices into one modern location designed to better serve the local community. 

Following a £2.3 million investment, mydentist, City Link Retail Park, Cardiff, will officially open on 9th February 2026 and represents a major upgrade for the more than 17,800 patients currently cared for by mydentist in Cardiff. 

Tayer Witchell, Practice Manager at mydentist Cardiff, commented: “The move to City Link Retail Park will substantially increase our dental surgery capacity and our team, which in turn will mean more care can be delivered to the community. While we work to ensure the practice is ready to open its doors officially in the spring, our teams at our practices on Countisbury Avenue, Quay Street and Splott Road remain committed to providing patients with the best possible level of care.”

A major investment in dental care for Cardiff 

The new City Link Retail Park practice will replace the current mydentist practices on Countisbury Avenue, Quay Street and Splott Road, merging them into a single, purpose‑built site. 

Patients can expect: 

• A modern, state‑of‑the‑art practice environment

• 14 dental surgeries at launch, with capacity to grow to 19 in the future

• A wider range of dental treatments and technology 

• Longer opening hours 

• Improved transport links and free on‑site parking 

• Wheelchair and disabled access 

The expansion will also support job creation, growing the existing team of more than 50 clinicians and support staff. Recruitment is already under way for a number of roles, including student nurses, qualified dental nurses, reception team members and treatment coordinators. 

A full range of affordable dental treatment options 

The new mydentist Cardiff practice will offer treatments across all three tiers of mydentist dentistry: 

• NHS dental care

• myoptions private dental care 

• Premium private dental care 

Patients will be able to book myoptions private check‑ups and hygiene appointments online, alongside a wide range of cosmetic treatments including teeth whitening, teeth straightening and dental implants. 

The practice will also be accepting new patients under myoptions, with private check‑ups for new patients starting from £79. 

In addition, we are also offering limited access to our dental plan subscriptions at mydentist Cardiff, offering guaranteed check‑ups and hygiene appointments starting at just £10.50 per month. 

When asked about his hopes for the soon-to-be-opened Cardiff practice, John Hudson, Property Director at mydentist, commented: “We’re thrilled to be on track to open our new Cardiff practice in February 2026. The new premises will not only offer improved facilities for our dedicated practice teams, but also more choice for our patients.”
