Is the process confidential?

Yes! All information that you share with us is held in the strictest of confidence. The Head of M&A will only share information with the mydentist Directors at an appropriate time, and when you are ready.

What type of practices do you buy?

Whether you are a purely private, NHS or mixed practice, we are happy to talk to you about the options available. We buy Limited Companies, Partnerships and Sole Traders.

How will the practice be managed following the sale?

The practice will be managed by a Practice Manager, with support from an Area Development Manager.

Throughout the acquisitions process and post-sale, you and your team will be supported by the Integration Team, assisting with a smooth transition into mydentist.

mydentist have a wide range of extended support from Clinician, operational, finance, and IT from our field and support centre teams.

Can I stay at the practice as an associate following the sale?

We would love you to stay! When we come to meet you we can discuss in detail your plans and next steps.

What will happen to my staff?

Your staff are key to the success of your practice and continued care to the patients you have been treating throughout your ownership. We want to work with your staff to help support and develop them in their careers.

When do I tell the team?

We will work with you on when it is the best time to inform the team, whilst maintaining confidentiality throughout the whole process. We do recommend practice teams are informed a minimum of 4 weeks prior to completion, but we will support on how to tell the team and hold welcome meeting and follow up meetings to support you and the team and questions or concerns they may have.

How long does it take to sell my practice?

  • The process from our first initial visit to completion can take an average of 12 to 16 weeks. However, this timeframe is dependent on a number of factors mainly CQC application. We will ensure full visibility throughout and keep in regular contact with you and your legal team to minimise any delays to the transaction.
  • Our dedicated Transaction and Integration teams who will be working with you throughout the process are on hand to assist with any queries you may have throughout the process. Our Integration Team will also be supporting you on the collation of the due diligence throughout the process.

Do mydentist offer CPD courses?

What clinical support is made available to clinicians who are part of the mydentist network?

mydentist has an extensive clinical support network of 4 Clinical Directors and 37 local/area Clinical Development Advisors who provide personal and professional support through a personal development plan to support clinician progression and development. The mydentist clinical team provide on-going support through our clinical quality review (CQR) and audit processes to our clinicians to ensure compliance with required national standards.

Clinicians also receive NHS claiming guidance as well having access to the Clinical Information App & mydentist reports, which provides the latest up to date information for a clinician on their clinical indicators as well as the productivity dashboard. Clinicians can join our clinical panel for the testing of materials.

Clinician engagement remains central to everything we do to ensure clinicians and practice teams to feel part of a dental community. We provide an extensive programme of peer reviews supported by our CDAs throughout all our practices; as well quarterly clinical newsletters to provide updates on the latest guidance as well as any key business updates. We have an annual clinical conference for our clinicians, practice, and operational teams for two days of keynote addresses with an opportunity to network with colleagues.

Clinicians have the opportunity to progress and develop their careers by working in one of our AOHC’s which aim to provide a “one stop” referral centre for patients with all specialities, with the latest investment in digital dentistry and with intra-oral scanning.

mydentist has an approved Mentor scheme with free training and on-going development for our mentors.

What changes can I expect if I sell my practice?

This changes on a practice-by-practice basis. We would rebrand if we together thought it would be beneficial to the practice. However, this is not an essential requirement.
