"Dr Jenna Sumners is the best dentist I have ever used! I needed to find a new practice after moving to Barnstaple 18 months ago. After phoning around all the other practices for the best prices I decided to go with mydentist as their prices for the whitening gum shields were the most competitive. Jenna not only made me a gum shield and got my teeth pearly white but also repair a cracked tooth which I had been told by my prior dentist was unachievable!!! 12 months on the repaired tooth is still perfect and I have had an enjoyable return visit since for a check ups. A nice laid back approach, not rushed and actually spend the time to listen and advise on all my questions. Thank you."

"What can I say. After months of having tooth ache and not being registered anywhere i finally built up the courage to get my problem sorted out. I rang as id been recommended something called myoptions from a friend. I was booked in that same week and the dentist i saw was just wonderful. The price was a lot less than expected too! Ive had my covid vaccination so wasnt too worried in that respect but felt the practice was very safe greeting me at the door and asking me questions about covid, there's hand sanitizer by the door and all staff including behind the big screens have masks or visors on. Well done Mydentist on a fantastic experience."

What are dental implants? Dental implants are a fixed solution for missing teeth that are the closest possible replacement for natural teeth. They involve one or more titanium screws being inserted into your jawbone to mimic a natural tooth root. Dental crowns are securely attached to these to fill the gaps in your mouth. Because dental implants are securely anchored in your jaw you’ll have the confidence to comfortably eat whatever you like.

Consultation Your initial consultation will be with either our Implant Surgeon or Treatment Coordinator (TCO), who can discuss the different types of implants, single or multiple depending on your need. Following this there may be a need for a more clinical focused consultation.
Diagnostic Scans We will carry out a number of digital scans, to build a digital 3D model of your mouth so we can get a clear picture of the area we will place the implant, and a more detailed X-ray using a Cone Beam Computer Tomography scanner so that our Implant surgeon can assess the state of the bone below the gum to get a really clear picture of your treatment need.
Treatment Plan Once our experienced implant surgeon has assessed all of you scans they will explain the nature of your treatment, the stages involved and costs. We offer flexible payment options to make implants even more affordable.
Commence Treatment Once you are happy we will begin treatment. The length and numbers of appointments will vary depending on the complexity of your particular need, but your Implant Surgeon will have detailed all of this in your treatment plan.
Implant Placed Once the implant(s) are placed it may be necessary it might be necessary to allow time for healing before attaching the replacement teeth. Once we are happy the implant has healed we will arrange a series of appointments to fabricate the replacement teeth.
Aftercare Your Implant Surgeon will advise you about looking after your implant and may well give you some painkillers to help with the pain over the days after your surgery as well as detailed advice about cleaning the implants and the teeth attached to them.
