I contacted the dentist on 4/5/20 due to severe toothache and spoke to a very helpful and professional receptionist who informed me that due to Covid 19 patients weren’t been physically seen but a dentist would call me back for a telephone consultation. Within minutes I was recontacted and after a thorough consultation was issued with a prescription for antibiotics which was faxed to the local chemist. From initial contact to collecting the medication took less than 30 mins. Highly organised and professional!!"

  • Dr.Ahmed Tahboub (Dental Implant Surgeon) Qualified from: BDS Manc, United Kingdom, 2013 GDC No: 244154
    After completing his dental degree at The University of Manchester, Ahmed worked at Manchester dental hospital and Manchester royal Infirmary. This allowed him to further his training in complex restorative dentistry and oral-maxillofacial surgery. During this time he was involved in surgical and dental reconstruction for patients who suffered from trauma or oral cancer. This is where he discovered his passion for dental implants and restorative dentistry. Ahmed then completed a postgraduate certificate in restorative dentistry and a certificate in dental implants. He also completed the exam for membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MJDF). His attention to detail and perfectionism earns the confidence of our patients to deliver the best possible results. His ability to put you at ease and make your treatment comfortable makes him popular amongst nervous patients. He offers complex implant surgery from single implants to full mouth rehabilitation using dental implants. In his spare time, Ahmed enjoys spending time with his young children and plays football and tennis. If you have one or multiple teeth missing. Come and discuss your options with him.
  • Dr.Richard Bate Qualified from: Manc United Kingdom, 2008 GDC No: 150115
    Richard qualified from Manchester in 2008 (BDS) and completed his vocational dental training in the North West. He then worked as an SHO and Staff Grade Surgeon in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in hospital between 2009 and 2012, achieving his Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MFDS RCSEd) during this time, developing a keen interest in minor oral surgery. Since then Richard has worked as an associate in General Dental Practice, and joined the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners (MFGDP) in 2014. He has undertaken training in Orthodontics, currently providing tooth straightening options and also completed the Foundation in Dental Implants through Straumann.
  • Dr.Syed Maududi Qualified from: BDS Birmingham 1993 United Kingdom, 1993 GDC No: 69504
    Syed Maududi studied dentistry at the University of Birmingham where he qualified in 1993. Syed then began to work in general practice. In 1999 he then decided to return to education in which he gained an MSC in Dental Public Health from the Eastmans Dental institute. Syed joined {my}dentist Lancaster in April 2013 and thoroughly enjoys working in general practice, he particularly enjoys cosmetic treatments including crowns, bridges and veneers. Syed has gone on to do further training in which he has a special interest in cosmetic teeth straightening. When Syed is not at work he enjoys reading and travelling.
  • Mr.Thomas Harrison Qualified from: BDS Newcastle, 2005 GDC No: 85828
    Dr Harrison studied dentistry at Newcastle upon Tyne where he qualified in 2005, then completing a year’s vocational training in Carlisle. He has also worked as an out of hours emergency care dentist across multiple sites and has since worked in private and NHS dental practices in Cumbria and North Lancashire. Dr Harrison joined us here at {my}dentist Lancaster in 2012 where he works as an NHS and private dentist. In 2013 Dr Harrison became a dental mentor and has since mentored many dentists. In 2015 he became Clinical Lead in Lancaster and in 2016 became Clinical Support Manager for {my}dentist for the Cumbria and Greater Manchester area. He has attended several courses to enhance his skills further such as Zoom! teeth whitening, Enlighten teeth whitening, clear aligners for teeth straightening, SmileFast and restorative options.
  • Mrs.Aniqa Saeed Khan Qualified from: BDS Lahore, 2009 GDC No: 267812
    Aniqa graduated from the University of Health Sciences, Pakistan in 2007. She gained versatile experience in oral surgery, restorative and prosthodontic treatments during her time working in Pakistan. She then moved to United Kingdom and undertook the Overseas Registration Exam conducted by the General Dental Council to enable her to practice dentistry in the UK. She joined the practice in 2017 and since then has worked full time as a General Dentist. Aniqa believes in continuous learning and has attended courses on Rotary Endodontics and Indirect Restorations among many other courses to develop her skills and knowledge. When Aniqa is not at work she enjoys oil painting and socialising with her friends.
  • Mrs.Miriam Gordon Qualified from: BDentSc Dublin, 1994 GDC No: 70346
    Miriam graduated from Trinity College in Dublin ,Ireland in 1994. She then began Vocational training in Isle of Lewis and Glasgow dental hospital. Miriam worked in Australia for 1 year mainly in Cairns Base Hospital but also travelled with flying doctor service to Torres Strait Islands and to mining settlements Miriam began working in Mayo dental in 2002.She has a Special interest in Cerezen which treats TMJ/ Teeth Grinding. Miriam is Married with two children and when she is not working she is kept busy by Taxiing her two very sporty children to County, National and International competitions she also enjoys holidaying in Ireland at every opportunity she gets.

    Marta has been working with {my}dentist since 2005. She has gained extensive experience in helping nervous people and like's all aspect of dentistry, especially when she can get someone out of pain and help them to smile! Previously, Marta was a dental technician before she decided to progress on to qualifying as a dentist in Poland in 2005. Marta then moved to the United Kingdom and undertook the Overseas Registration Exam conducted by the General Dental Council to enable her to practice dentistry in the UK. When Marta has some spare time, she loves spending time at home reading and cross stich.

What are dental implants?
Dental implants are a fixed solution for missing teeth that are the closest possible replacement for natural teeth. They involve one or more titanium screws being inserted into your jawbone to mimic a natural tooth root. Dental crowns are securely attached to these to fill the gaps in your mouth. Because dental implants are securely anchored in your jaw you’ll have the confidence to comfortably eat whatever you like.

  • Consultation Your initial consultation will be with either our Implant Surgeon or Treatment Coordinator (TCO), who can discuss the different types of implants, single or multiple depending on your need. Following this there may be a need for a more clinical focused consultation.

  • Diagnostic Scans We will carry out a number of digital scans, to build a digital 3D model of your mouth so we can get a clear picture of the area we will place the implant, and a more detailed X-ray using a Cone Beam Computer Tomography scanner so that our Implant surgeon can assess the state of the bone below the gum to get a really clear picture of your treatment need.

  • Treatment Plan Once our experienced implant surgeon has assessed all of you scans they will explain the nature of your treatment, the stages involved and costs. We offer flexible payment options to make implants even more affordable.

  • Commence Treatment Once you are happy we will begin treatment. The length and numbers of appointments will vary depending on the complexity of your particular need, but your Implant Surgeon will have detailed all of this in your treatment plan.

  • Implant Placed Once the implant(s) are placed it may be necessary it might be necessary to allow time for healing before attaching the replacement teeth. Once we are happy the implant has healed we will arrange a series of appointments to fabricate the replacement teeth.

  • Aftercare Your Implant Surgeon will advise you about looking after your implant and may well give you some painkillers to help with the pain over the days after your surgery as well as detailed advice about cleaning the implants and the teeth attached to them.
