Welcome to {my}dentist Dunraven Street, a 7-surgery practice based in the heart of Tonypandy on the banks of the Rhondda River. You can find us a 6-minute walk from Tonypandy train station and there is parking available just behind Iceland if you are intending on driving to your appointment. We are providers of both NHS and Private treatments, including our {my}options affordable private scheme for more flexible appointments without the private price tag. Some of our available treatments include Invisalign and ClearCorrect teeth straightening, Teeth Whitening, Implants, Facial Aesthetics and Hygiene appointments. If you have any questions or would like to book in for a consultation the team would love to hear from you. We look forward to welcoming you into our practice soon!

Dr Jasraj Duhra qualified from Cardiff University in 2017 with BDS(Hons). He joined Tonypandy practice in 2018. He provides both NHS and private treatment, and has since excelled in developing his skills in private dentistry further. He has attended a number of courses in restorative dentistry and a keen interest in developing his skills further. He is a an Invisalign Go provider and also trained in Smilefast. Jasraj patient care and excellent patient rapport is impeccable and is an asset of the team. In his spare time Jas enjoys football, golf and spending time with his friends and family.
Dr.Krupali Praful C M Shah Qualified from: BDS Cardiff 2015 (Registrable qualification replacing BDS Cardiff 2014. Cardiff, 2014 GDC No: 251203

Having qualified from Cardiff Dental School in 2014, Krupali has spent her time working in both Private and NHS general practices and various hospital settings in South Wales. During her Dental Foundation Training between 2014-16, she gained additional skills in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Morriston and Prince Charles Hospital and Private Specialist Practices in Swansea. Krupali enjoys spending her time treating children and nervous patients by providing a calm and pain-free atmosphere. These skills were further improved during her time working in the Community Dental Services in Swansea in 2017. From 2018, Krupali has worked as an Associate Dentist and enjoys all aspects of general dentistry with a keen interest in Endodontics (Root Canal Therapy). In 2021, she completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Endodontics at the University of Chester and passed with a Merit. She also attended the Post Graduate Diploma teaching in Endodontics. Krupali joined the {my}dentist team in 2021. Krupali is always striving to improve her skills, broaden her knowledge and provide the best care for her patients. Outside of work, Krupali is passionate about wildlife and nature and can be found mountaineering on a range of mountains around the world.
Dr.Laura-Irina Dinuta Qualified from: DMD Bucharest,Romania, 2002 GDC No: 191757

Dr Laura Dinuta graduated from University of Dental Medicine Carol Davila, Bucharest in 2001, she then went on to earn the title of specialist Dentist in general dentistry after 3 more years of studying at the university. She first had the inspiration to enter the field of dentistry as a teen when she realized how much her school friends and even some adults feared going to the dentist. She wanted to make the experience more patient friendly and comfortable and she decided that the best way to do this was to become a dentist herself. With the abundance of experience in Tonypandy she has most definitely achieved this with many of her patients. She is widely recognized by her patients in the practice for her loud laugh and for her friendly and comforting manner. She has undertaken many courses to further her knowledge in dentistry in both NHS and Private Treatment, some being- SmileFast and Enlighten Whitening. When Dr Dinuta is not practicing dentistry she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, traveling and she also enjoys cycling.
Dr.Myles Povey Qualified from: BDS Cardiff 2012 Wales, 2012 GDC No: 229150

Myles graduated with a First Class Honours Degree from Cardiff Dental School in 2012 where he also achieved a First Class intercalated BSc degree in Oral Diseases. Since joining the practice Myles has undertaken a range of post graduate training. Most notably a Post Graduate Certificate in Contemporary Aesthetic and Restorative dentistry from the Smile Concepts Dominic Hassall Training institute. This has provided Myles with the skills and knowledge to provide a wide range of more complex restorative treatments in a safe and predictable way. Myles has a passion for cosmetic dentistry and offers a wide range of treatments to improve the appearance of your smile. From aesthetic composite bonding both freehand and using the Smilefast system, veneers and tooth straightening. Myles is a full Invisalign provider and able to provide cosmetic orthodontics in the practice as well as working with other systems. Myles offers facial aesthetic treatment including anti-wrinkle treatments. Alongside his work at the practice he has also volunteered teaching oral surgery in Tanzania with the charity Bridge2Aid as well as acting as a clinical mentor for overseas dental graduates. Outside of work Myles enjoys endurance sport having completed multiple Ironman’s & ultramarathons.

In 2020 Radu graduated with a Masters Degree in Periodontology from the University of Central Lancashire after a three year postgraduate course. Along with his special interest in Implantology, Periodontology and Full-mouth reconstructions, Radu is also passionate about aesthetic dentistry. Radu has attended a number of courses in facial aesthetics and is keen to develop this further. What are dental implants?
Dental implants are a fixed solution for missing teeth that are the closest possible replacement for natural teeth. They involve one or more titanium screws being inserted into your jawbone to mimic a natural tooth root. Dental crowns are securely attached to these to fill the gaps in your mouth. Because dental implants are securely anchored in your jaw you’ll have the confidence to comfortably eat whatever you like.

Consultation Your initial consultation will be with either our Implant Surgeon or Treatment Coordinator (TCO), who can discuss the different types of implants, single or multiple depending on your need. Following this there may be a need for a more clinical focused consultation.
Diagnostic Scans We will carry out a number of digital scans, to build a digital 3D model of your mouth so we can get a clear picture of the area we will place the implant, and a more detailed X-ray using a Cone Beam Computer Tomography scanner so that our Implant surgeon can assess the state of the bone below the gum to get a really clear picture of your treatment need.
Treatment Plan Once our experienced implant surgeon has assessed all of you scans they will explain the nature of your treatment, the stages involved and costs. We offer flexible payment options to make implants even more affordable.
Commence Treatment Once you are happy we will begin treatment. The length and numbers of appointments will vary depending on the complexity of your particular need, but your Implant Surgeon will have detailed all of this in your treatment plan.
Implant Placed Once the implant(s) are placed it may be necessary it might be necessary to allow time for healing before attaching the replacement teeth. Once we are happy the implant has healed we will arrange a series of appointments to fabricate the replacement teeth.
Aftercare Your Implant Surgeon will advise you about looking after your implant and may well give you some painkillers to help with the pain over the days after your surgery as well as detailed advice about cleaning the implants and the teeth attached to them.
