Transform your smile with composite bonding

Say goodbye to chipped, cracked or discoloured teeth and hello to a brighter, more confident smile with composite bonding from mydentist! This cosmetic dental treatment, also known as composite veneers or teeth bonding, is a gentle and discreet way to achieve a natural-looking smile.

At mydentist, our experienced dentists are ready to help you regain your smile confidence with composite bonding.

What is composite bonding?

Composite bonding is a cosmetic dental treatment that uses thin layers of tooth-coloured composite resin to improve the appearance of your teeth. The composite resin is placed over the surface of the tooth to fill cracks, repair broken teeth, fill gaps, and improve discoloured teeth. Best of all, the entire process can often be completed in just one visit to your local  practice!

What are composite veneers?

Composite veneers are similar to composite bonding, but instead of applying the composite resin in thin layers, the resin material is placed over the entire tooth and shaped to achieve the desired look. Composite veneers can also usually be completed in one appointment. Your dentist will be able to advise on the best treatment for you.

Have you thought about?

To enhance your smile makeover, composite bonding is often used alongside other dental cosmetic treatments such as clear aligner teeth straightening and teeth whitening.

Patients start with clear aligner treatment to straighten their teeth which is then followed by brightening with teeth whitening, with composite bonding completing the final touches to the smile makeover.

Composite bonding FAQs

How much does composite bonding cost?

Composite bonding starts from only £34.90 per month*, based on 4 composite veneers.

How long does composite bonding take?

Composite bonding is usually completed in one visit to the dentist. During your treatment the dentist will ensure that the tooth is cleaned to remove all surface stains, the teeth surfaces are then isolated to keep dry from moisture in the mouth. The composite resin material is applied to the surfaces of the teeth in order to achieve the correct shape and position, ensuring a natural appearance remains. Finishing touches are key to a successful result, polishing your composite bonding and checking your bite. You will be able to see the final result, and then you’re ready to go!

Is composite bonding painful?

Composite bonding is generally painless, and our dentists will do everything they can to minimise any discomfort.

Is composite bonding available on the NHS?

Composite bonding is typically a cosmetic treatment and is not available on the NHS.

How do I take care of composite bonding?

Good oral hygiene is crucial after composite bonding. We recommend seeing a hygienist before and after the treatment, as well as using an interdental brush or floss for cleaning between teeth, and an electric toothbrush for general brushing. Be careful with the types of food you eat, as hard foods like crusty bread, popcorn, and sweets can break or damage the composite bonding. Avoid habits like nail biting, pen chewing, and night grinding to reduce the risk of breaking or chipping the composite.

Do I need further treatment?

Composite bonding and veneers generally only require one visit to the practice, however, some patients might decide to combine them with other procedures like teeth straightening and teeth whitening for a comprehensive smile makeover. If you think you might be interested in these treatments, it’s best to do them in sequence, starting with teeth straightening, then whitening, and finally composite bonding.
