Welcome to {my}dentist Morris Street, formerly known as the Withington Orthodontic Centre. We are a well-established 2-surgery Specialist Orthodontist practice based in the Withington area of Manchester. You can find us on the corner of Morris Street and Hill Street, a 15-minute walk away from Mauldeth Road train station. Our highly skilled team of Specialist Orthodontists and nurses have many years of experience and are passionate about helping patients achieve their new smile with teeth straightening. We provide both NHS and Private treatments. We offer metal fixed braces, Iconix fixed braces, Ceramic fixed braces, Invisalign clear aligners and functional appliances. Besides teeth straightening, we also see patients for broken and replacement bonded retainers, removable retainers, teeth whitening and orthodontic opinions. Zero interest finance is available. Under 18's braces

It’s common for orthodontic treatment to begin in the teenage years, once all or most of the permanent teeth have come through. At that point it becomes clear whether someone might have dental concerns such as significant crowding, an over or underbite, or difficulty biting the teeth together which might affect eating or properly cleaning the teeth.

In cases where these issues are significant, braces will be available on the NHS. They assess who will receive braces according to a scoring system called the Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need, or IOTN score.

Some teens may not meet the IOTN score, in which case the NHS treatment is not available, or the waiting list in their area may be very long meaning they are unable to start treatment quickly. That is why we have a range of affordable private orthodontic treatments available for teenagers.

    Metal fixed appliances consist of small metal brackets attached to the teeth with a wire tied into the brackets. The wires are then used to move the teeth into the desired position giving the orthodontist control over the tooth movements. The ties can be coloured giving you the option to customise the brace.

  • Dr.Ulrike-Helen Jahr (Orthodontist) Qualified from: Zahnarzt Leipzig 2001 Germany, 2001 GDC No: 213338
    Dr Ulrike-Helen Jahr qualified from the Dental School of Leipzig University, Germany, in 2001. She obtained her orthodontic specialist qualification from Hamburg University in 2006 and was awarded a doctoral degree (PhD) from Leipzig University in 2008. Dr Jahr is included on the General Dental Council´s Specialist list in orthodontics and regularly takes part in specialized orthodontic courses as well as national and international conferences as part of her ongoing professional development. Dr Jahr is passionate about Invisalign treatments and is member of the European Aligner Society (EAS). In her spare time she enjoys walks through the British countryside together with her two sons and husband.
  • Mrs.Rosemary Jones (Orthodontist) Qualified from: BDS ( liverpool ) FDS RSC (Edin) MSC (Manchester) D ORTH RCS ( Eng) Lpool, United Kingdom, 1980 GDC No: 54788
    Rosemary is an orthodontist with over 20 years experience. She is registered with the General Dental Council and is also on the orthodontic specialist list. Rosemary enjoys treating both children and adults. Her philosophy is to treat patients in the manner in which she would wish to be treated, using the most up to date materials and to the highest standard. Rosemary explains that the benefits of orthodontics go beyond improved dental health. For many patients their enhanced appearance contributes to increased self esteem and enjoyment of life.
  • Dr.Nadia Stivaros (Orthodontist) Qualified from: BDS, MOrth RCS, MFDS RCS Manc, United Kingdom, 1999 GDC No: 75779
    Nadia is a Specialist Orthodontist, greatly passionate about her work and always striving for clinical excellence. She graduated from Manchester University in 1999 where she received awards including the dental alumni prize in dental sciences. Following graduation, Nadia widened her paediatric training by working at Great Ormond Street Hospital. In 2001, she was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. In 2003, Nadia began her Orthodontic Specialist training programme at Manchester University and gained her MPhil in Orthodontics and her Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Nadia specialises in an extensive range of orthodontic treatments,(NHS and Private), from the conventional metal fixed appliances and self-ligating systems to the more aesthetic treatment options. Nadia is also an Invisalign certified practitioner. Nadia enjoys treating both children and adults and takes pride in helping to create winning smiles! Nadia has a strong research interest and has published in both National and International journals, winning an award from the European Federation of Orthodontics for the publication of a national clinical trial in 2010. She is active with continuous professional development, attending conferences and courses to keep her up to date.
