mydentist wins RoSPA Commended Award in the Healthcare Services Sector

mydentist has been presented with a prestigious award in recognition of its practices and achievements in helping its staff and patients get home safely at the end of the working day.

The company has won “Commended in the Healthcare Services Sector” for the second year running in the internationally-renowned Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Health and Safety Awards, the longest-running industry awards scheme in the UK.

They were presented with the award during a ceremony at Hilton Birmingham Metropole hotel in June.

The RoSPA Awards scheme, which receives entries from organisations around the world, recognises achievement in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

The Commended Award is recognised as a major achievement in the competitive healthcare category which is considered an even greater accolade than the Gold awards held previously.

Penri Cunnah, group head of health & safety for mydentist, said: “I am personally delighted that we have achieved a Commended Award in the healthcare sector for the second year running from RoSPA. I am extremely proud of the Health & Safety team and would like to extend my sincere thanks to them and to the wider organisational teams for their continued efforts to maintain and improve standards.”

Nyree Whitley, group clinical director for mydentist, said: “Our Health and Safety team has once again been recognised with the Commended ROSPA award in the healthcare sector. The awards are very competitive so receiving the award for a second consecutive year is an exceptional achievement. The team do a fantastic job ensuring that all our practices are a safe environment for our staff and patients.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, said: “The RoSPA Awards have become the key fixture in the health and safety calendar with new sponsors and new awards this year including the Leisure Safety Awards, the Safe@Work, Safe@Home Award and the Inspiration Awards. Highly-respected, with almost 2,000 entrants every year, RoSPA award winners benefit from the wide-ranging rewards of improved sector reputation.”

Headline sponsor of the RoSPA Awards 2019 is NEBOSH – the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health – for the 14th consecutive year.
